“If the sky's the limit, then go there,....in an airplane!” - Unknown…. On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright created the very first airplane ever. The Wright brothers had grown tired and bored of just adding to their information of building an airplane, so they actually tried to do it! Together, they persevered, and after about four attempts, they invented the first successful airplane! Based on Air And Space Museum, their victorious airplane did fly, but it didn’t have much power and was hard to control. Airplanes have been important to society, because it might be a way of transportation, but they are also a pretty big part of our lives. Wars have been fought with the help of airplanes, trading has been done using airplanes, communication has been connected through the flight of airplanes. Of course, nobody really thinks that airplanes are still a wonder, we just know them as an everyday thing. In my opinion, airplanes have really helped the communication process, because if you haven’t seen your family for 12 years, but you can’t go to see them in any way because they live far away, airplanes have let us see our friends and family happily. You can travel pretty much anywhere, relaxed, or by being productive and doing whatever you want. Airplanes are also a more comfortable way of transportation for most people, before and now. From now on, think about what impact the airplane had on society. One benefit of this piece of technology to society is that since this was the first airplane, it was the basis (the process of an idea/plan) for basically all other aircrafts that came after it. According to Reference.com, it was also a beneficial model for other manufacturers, since it helped them think of future improvements. One negative of this piece of technology is that the wings were too small, which made the plane complicated and tough to control. Also, airplanes have a negative impact on the environment, because airplanes cause both noise pollution, and also pollution from fuel, oil, grease, which damages its surroundings. The noise and air-pressure was also sometimes annoying or irritating for people, especially little kids. Some people get headaches just because of all of the waiting, security, safety, and luggage work that has to be done quickly, but slowly. Even though few people have it, and have to tolerate it air sickness is also a problem. Slowly people, also get used to this problem, but the first time, it is scary and hard to fly in an airplane, especially in really bad weather.
