I knew from the very beginning I wanted to become a Game Day Operator however, I wasn’t sure if that was the right career for me. I am now in my Senior Year, and I am confident in this life long journey I have to embark. I can imagine myself organizing events behind the scenes, running around the stadium all day just for a two hour event and that is what I love doing. It is my final year, and I have all my classes situated except for one elective I am in the midst of having three options yet which one should I choose? “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” Theodore Roosevelt said it best every day and every hour people are …show more content…
Ensuring that each department can run smoothly the day of the game. I need to enhance my skills in organization, leadership, and management. Therefore, I would need a class that will help me in at least one of those three aspects. My first option is marketing which is defined as the action or business of promoting and selling products or services. In that class I will be learning the basics of consumer markets, consumer buyer behaviors, successful marketing strategies and how to cater to specific audiences. Taking this class will help me continue to stay current with the new upcoming trends; however, I do not want to sell people items. So I will not attain any of the three aspects I am looking for yet, I will gain additional skills such as being able to sell items to people and pitch information to people. My second elective option would be Public Relations course that will help advance my writing since I will be learning how to write press release, and help plan media campaigns. Having this course will help me directly with my major for off season specifically the management sector. Since I will be the one in charge of releasing out press release, and organizing the press events I would need to know quality work when I see it and be able to give feedback when necessary. However, writing isn’t my strongest point so I may face some difficult in that class meaning I
Students who are looking for jobs in accounting or management are also taking the class for the fact that someone has to run hospitals. All students are interested in taking the class now, and because of that, Mr. Davis has started changing the class to keep all students informed the way the need to be. To keep this information relative, Mr. Davis is constantly in contact with college professors of all areas. “I want to know what they want their students to know before they start college. Then I use that in my class plans and give that information to my students.”
Therefore, I hope that I can achieve many new valuable experiences as well as friendships through this class. As a student, I believe I have the responsibilities to pay attention in class, and contribute to the class as much as I can. Besides, I need to ensure that I finish homework before coming to class and seek for help when needed. My goal is to become a successful business woman, who has the opportunities to work with different countries and cultures around the world. I am confident that this class will help improving my analytical and organizing skills, which are helpful and beneficial for my career in the
Choosing a career path that is right for you can be the most crucial decisions you make in your life. Not only is making the right choice important for the present, but it is especially important for your future. When choosing a career it is valuable to consider things such as growth potential, monetary benefits, strengths, weaknesses, and your happiness. By doing that it will help clarify the benefits and tradeoffs for each opportunity you are given. That being said, making such a weighted decision that will impact the rest of your life can be nerve-racking, extremely scary, stressful, and outright frustrating. However, making this decision is not impossible and can become less complicated if you are given the right tools. Gathering information
It is one thing to have the knowledge of “the practice of mobilizing people to tackle tough challenges and thrive”. What I am persistent to do with that knowledge is what is important. My biggest take away is that I need to get on the balcony. By being on the balcony I can see that is it really the bold guy with the dance moves who starts the party, not the DJ. Silly to me that I never realized that is where I needed to be, that is where people could find me in a real life party. A year from now I hope that is still where I will be, looking for new data and learning more about myself in new circumstances. There will always be more to learn, although every once in a while I will have to intervene in situations that will make me uncomfortable. To carry on improving on the skills I picked up during the course of this class, it will be crucial for me to reevaluate the goals I set for myself. I plan to reset them all and provide myself with a timeline to achieve the goals. KU offers a minor in leadership studies and this classes is the foundation for all of those leadership classes to come. This class will be impossible to forget as I move forward in complete my minor. I will be using what I have learned in this class still three years from, it is kind of

Unfortunately, choosing a rapid occupation often leads to an unsatisfying path in the future, if not sooner. Eventually the individual decides to quit and start all over again. According to choosingacareer.net, “6% of workers over the age 50 are in the process of changing a career, resumes mailed to companies’ staffing departments only accounts for 3% of hires nationwide, and 95% of human resources managers and 95% of job seekers depend on personal contacts and networking to fill and find openings.” (choosingacareer.net) Choosing a career takes time and research, so it’s better to plan your future than rapidly pick one. Although some people claim they are happy with the career they chose of the bat, choosing a career carefully is much more effective because in the long run you will feel content and appreciate more with the choice you made.
Coming into this major I had no idea what to expect and the same went for this course, but I did know that it dealt with leadership, something that I have been steeped in for a good part of my life. So with that, it was hard to really set any goals as to what I would want to improve in with my leadership style but I was able to pin point a few aspects that could use some work through learning about different leadership techniques and methods. By learning about how leaders are formed, different approaches to leading groups and various aspects effecting group dynamics, I could determine an individuals or my own strengths in leadership and the methods necessary to effectively lead various types of groups. Also by observing many others in facilitating the after school program it gave me much more of an opportunity to see what works and what does not, this is an opportunity very few leaders get without being thrust into a role that they are ill prepared for.
I feel that the courses I have selected will help me expand on the many marketing courses I have already completed. Receiving my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Management, and Economics, with a concentration in Marketing from Empire State College is something I take great pride in. Along with this degree and gaining the knowledge from these courses I am confident I will be able to further my career in the marketing field. I hope that the courses I have selected fulfill the standards that the college has come to expect.
With the knowledge acquired through the classes I will be a better manager to server to my colleagues in my upcoming career and it will help brighten my future. My passion of being a leader within a healthcare facility comes from knowing that if employees are treated well and happy with their job they will have excellent customer service skills and treat patients with excellence. When a patient is sick they are at the most vulnerable time of their life. If you receive awesome customer service during your most vulnerable time you will feel grateful. I have had many patients at my job express how we don’t make them feel like other doctors office. The patient has expressed that at other doctor office they just feel like another number. When a patient feels as if the staff, doctors, and manager care they will see the whole environment as effective leaders for all healthcare organizations.

Sports have always been my passion, from playing in middle school to managing in high school and college. My family has always been very sports oriented, and when a knee injury halted my plans of playing sports in high school, I turned to something that could keep me involved without the ability to play: managing. I started out managing my high school volleyball team when I got cut sophomore year due to my inability to play well because of my knee. Keeping stats during the matches became a fun activity for me, but I also was able to stay a part of the team and make some friends that I will keep for the rest of my life. Junior year of high school, I was approached by the varsity boys’ basketball coach. He asked if I would be willing to manage because he had heard great things from the volleyball coach and was in need of a manager. After talking to my parents and looking at my daily schedule, I agreed. This turned out to be the best decision of my high school career.
Managerial communication and skills is the subject that needs to be legitimately comprehended and consolidated into each organization. I accept that working ordinarily for an organization might be some piece of life, however fit to deal with our work with successful correspondence and aptitude is an Art of Living. I can certainly say that this course at Sullivan had provided for me sufficient chance to consider different viewpoints that I have been taking a shot at a regular schedule at my work place. It additionally helped me enhance each part of it. It is said that take in while you take in and play while you play, then again, my work style is to play while I take in (taking in gets to be so natural) and this could be accomplished through solid crucial learning in Managerial communication and skills.
