Introduction E-learning According to Wikipedia, “e-learning is the use of electronic media and information and communication technologies (ICT) in education”. It is inclusive of all types of educational technology in learning and teaching, which is generally identical with multimedia learning, technology-enhanced learning (TEL), computer-based instruction (CBI), computer-based training (CBT), computer-assisted instruction or computer-aided instruction (CAI), internet-based training (IBT), web-based training (WBT), online education, virtual education, virtual learning environments (VLE) (which are also called learning platforms), m-learning, and digital educational collaboration [1]. E-learning uses various types of media that can deliver text, images, audio, animation and streaming video. In addition, technology applications and processes such as audio or video tape, CD-ROM, computer-based learning and web-based learning are also examples of e-learning. Nowadays, some of the commonly used devices in e-learning are computers, tablet, mobile devices and interactive whiteboards. Background In 2010, the Education Bureau of Hong Kong introduced e-learning in schools, as the Pilot Scheme on e-Learning in Schools. The objective of the scheme is to set up a pilot scheme to inquire how e-learning should be carried out in different curriculum and school contexts in Hong Kong, in order to enhance learning through the use of electronic media. For comprehensive coverage of engaging one key stage of schooling, the scheme is to be spread across three school years [2]. After the selection process, a total of 61 schools will be involved in 21 selected projects.
