Imperialism in India British imperialism on India had many positive and negative affects on both the mother country, Britain and the colony, India. Many people would argue which effects were more prominent in these countries and some would agree that they were equal. But in both cases there were actually both. In India the British colonization had more positive affects than negative. For Instance, When the British colonized India they built 40,000 miles of railroad and 70,000 miles of paved roadway. As a result the British made it much easier to travel across India. Another good affect that the British had on India was the jump in agriculture, through large scale irrigation works. About 30 million acres were put into cultivation. Industrialization had also begun. Because of all these reasons almost no famine existed in British colonial India. The English also built many institutions in India and setup a productive government. "They have framed wise laws and have established courts of justice"(The Economic History Of India Under Early British Rule). In addition to all these positive affects, Britain also linked India to the modern world through modern science and modern thought. However, where the is good there has to be bad. British colonization of India had it's drawbacks. As the great Mohandas Gahndi once said " You English committed one supreme crime against my people. For a hundred years you have done everything for us. You have given us no responsibility for our own government." At first glance this may seem like a positive effect but Ghandi did not intend it to be. Because even though it was a good thing that England setup a government in India they turned it into a burden because they did not let any natives into the important positions. They "mommied" the Indians if you will. Another negative effect England had on India was the breaking up of traditional industries. Prior to Britain colonizing India there were many more divers skilled labors. Such as shipbuilding, metalwork, glassblowing, and paper making. With the break up there was a noticeable rise in the unemployment India. India was not the only country affected by the annex to the British empire though. This annexation affected Great Britain as well. Although the effects were not as devastating they still caused some change. But overall Britain definitely benefited from the colony of India. They got more raw materials and they also got more land.
It has also developed numerous courses that are intended to provide information and tools that may be needed to approach both significant nursing care and patient care issues. Given the scale of the population suffering with chronic kidney disease and the diversity of backgrounds in which patients are found, this curriculum may be of benefit to nurses caring for nephrology patients in many settings (ANNA, 2015). It supports, promotes among its members, and sponsors nursing research intended to develop evidence-based practice and to advance nursing science (ANNA, 2015). It strives to provide nurses with leadership opportunities, and encourages nurses to seize opportunities to advance and refine their leadership abilities (ANNA, 2015).
Children with chronic illnesses live a lifestyle that changes, and different problems that arise, as the child passes through developmental changes up to adulthood. Using knowledge of child development a nurse can recognize regressions in the child’s development and put preventive strategies in place. Nurses can plan and implement therapeutic regimens such as given medicine. Young people with chronic illness and their families are faced with coping with the demands of chronic conditions on a daily basis. Nurses can assist parents with different coping strategies that can be used by parents to minimize impact of diagnosis. For instance, they can provide explanations to parents about diagnosis, and support, and encourage family.
Many instances of racial profiling occur in reaction to specific crimes, making any racial or cultural groups are usually subjected to more intensive scrutiny by the authorities than others groups. The biggest two groups that are mainly affect by racial profiling are the African American and Hispanics. While other groups are also targets they are not as common as the ones in cases of African American. In certain phrases like “Driving while black” and “driving while Indian” comes from complaining that cops are pulling them over for no reason at all. “It affects groups such as Native Americans, Latin Americans, Arabs, Muslims, Asians, and others.” (Gale) Most of these groups have said there are not only targeted by driving, they are also targeted by performing simple tasks that we all do in everyday lives. Some examples of this where a police office has is an African American man standing on a corner waiting for a bus is stopped and questioned regarding why he is standing there and where he is going . Another example of this would be where a police a store clerk will stop a group of Hispanics accusing them of shoplifting. Hispanics and Muslims are suspected to immigration violations or ever worst terrorist. All these things lead into a powerful and sometime regretful aftermath of a
Imperialism had some positive effects regardless of how strict and unfair it was. Some positive effects can be seen in documents 2 and 7, which talks about what the mother nation gave to their colonized nations. These oppressors built them roads, canals, railways, and gave them education. They also introduced to them telegraphs, newspapers, and overall made them economized. Another positive effect can be read on documents 1 and 5. These documents show how both the oppressors and oppressed benefit from getting new resources such as raw m...
In this text we will discuss and explore chronic kidney disease by providing a definition, describing the disease, discussing the prevalence of chronic kidney disease in Pakistan and England and incidence of chronic kidney disease in Australia. Further on we will discuss how to prevent this disease and who can help us in order to improve our health condition.

“It was so hostile. I was so confused. It was happening so fast that I could easily see how this situation could get out of hand very quickly. I didn’t feel safe as all. But one officer stopped his questioning and said, ‘we may not let you go’.” (Perry) This is a quote from famous producer Tyler Perry, talking about his experience being stopped by two white police officers in Atlanta. Police officers are among the most trusted men and women in American society, they should be anyway. However, in some cities and states the trust between officers and people of a racial minority, such as Africans, Latinos and Arabs, has been tainted by mistreatment of policing powers. Some officers are stopping, searching, or pulling people of these races over and breaking the code they stand for by disrespecting the citizen, most of whom are completely innocent. This is not only morally unacceptable, but also completely unconstitutional and needs to stop promptly. With proper legislative action this injustice can and will be righted!
British imperialism had a negative impact on the politics of India because the British did not unite India and the British did not create the framework for India’s justice system. Dr. Lalvani claims, “the British brought all the ungoverned states together and formed one united India” (Lalvani). “Although the British brought the states together, a division was created between the Hindus and Muslims which prevented all of India from being completely united” (Gandhi). The British created the division between the Hindus and Muslims so they could prevent all of India from uniting against Britain’s colonial rule of India. With the division between the two religions, the British would be able to control the whole country more easily than if the whole country was united. Some of India’s native government officials believed that the only thing that the Hindus and Muslims had in common was that they were being oppressed in their own country. The friction between the two religions caused the people to blame each other for their problems which eventually turned violent. The tension between the two religions often went as far as killing each other. According
CKD is regarded as both a community and public health issue as a result of four main reasons: firstly, the disease places a huge burden on the community, which continues to grow despite the numerous measures that have been put in place to control it. Secondly, CKD is unfairly contracted as various segments of a given population are known to be unequally affected (Couser, Remuzzi, Mendis, & Tonelli, 2011). Thirdly, there is sufficient proof that effective preventive measures could greatly reduce the burden caused by the health problem. However, the proposed preventive measures are still in process and not yet functional (Levey & Coresh, 2012).
Kidney Smart is an educational course geared educating the general public and DaVita patients about kidney disease progression, and the importance of maintain a healthy lifestyle that prevent symptom worsening. Information regarding signing up for a class is found on the healthcare site. Kidney Smart provides a platform that facilitates meaningful interaction within the community. Many people are oblivious regarding the how taxing diabetes and hypertension can be to the organs within the body. Interdisciplinary collaboration is essential with enhancing the patient experience across a variety of healthcare disciplines (Freshwater, Cahlil, and Essen, 2014). These efforts are instrumental toward preventing undesirable outcomes. Remaining employed while depending on dialysis, recipes, and other facts are also found within the healthcare site (DaVita,
"All the leadership had spent their early years in England. They were influenced by British thought, British ideas, that is why our leaders were always telling the British "How can you do these things? They're against your own basic values.". We had no hatred, in fact it was the other way round - it was their values that made us revolt." -Aruna Asaf Ali, a leader of the Indian National Congress. (Masani, quoted in Wood, 32, 1989)
In 1857 the British had invaded the nation of Hindustan (India). Many feel that if it were not for the British Empire, India would still be an under developed country. The British established a government system that before did not exist. It was a three level system including the imperial government located in London, the central government located in Calcutta, and later on provincial governments scattered throughout the regions of what was known as the British Raj1. In Gabriella Coleman’s article, “Hacker Politics and Publics,” she describes a theoretical example of hacktivism: “If the copyright industries use digital rights management (DRM) to control their digital content, then the response of hackers is not just to crack DRM but to initiate a robust protest movement to insist on their right to do so” (Coleman 515). Through this example, Coleman communicates that hacker culture aims to defend individual rights, like the right to redistribute content they bought. As Coleman explains earlier in the essay, hackers achieve this goal by exercising the power of the individual in protesting the shortcomings of the mainstream through the act of hacking. In stark contrast with the indie artists that indie traditionalists describe, hackers, as viewed by Coleman, communicate their agenda not through art but through technological dissonance and digital
There were many countries that had ever been colonized in the world. India is one of these countries that affected by the Britain very much. From 16th century to 20th century, British colonialist began the aggression and expanding. England had ever governed many countries by using force methods . Absolutely, India became the target because of its widely nature products and lack of military power. The ancient country was suffering the colonial bearing. As English invade , many parts of India were changed such as culture, traditions and political structure. They also influenced Indians on language. In old days, they usually used Hindi, but now they almost use English. Some changes are positive while others are negative. Overall, in my opinion, the changes made by mixing culture do more harmful to India than positive. The positive elements are transportation, political structure, advanced technology. The negative elements are language, traditional culture and religion problems.
With major control over India, the British used a combination of firepower & guile to consolidate their power over the country by expanding from their base areas along the coast into the interior (Duiker 31). Some territories were also taken over the privately run East India Company, which at the time was given authority to administer Asian territories under British occupation, while others were ruled by local maharajas (Duiker 31). British governance brought order and stability to a society that had recently been wrecked by the wars from the different empires (Duiker 31).
