Two prototypes of the King Cobra were produced with different engines to be able to analyze economy and possibility. Unfortunately the perfect balance hasn’t been found yet for the King Cobra. With technology only speeding up we are bound to find the perfect mix in time (Writer). With technology coming this far, all the way from the Cobra to the Supercobra, modern militaries have their new favorite weapon. We currently use these amazing machines in combat ranging from the dead of night to the heat of the front lines.
Drones were first used to provide high quality surveillance on areas suspected of terrorism. The drones could do this because they are able to fly and hover over their targets for hours while transmitting information to the people on the ground. Drones accompany soldiers in war zones to provide them with important information they need to do a better job. The military currently uses a few different models of drones like the MQ-1 Predator which was the first model the military used for drone strikes. The second drone is called the MQ-9 Reaper; this drone is an upgraded version of the MQ-1 predator.
My wife had a close friend who was in the Army Airborne who came home from two tours in Afghanistan and later Iraq, who told all kinds of stories of going into the caves. He said... ... middle of paper ... ... Forces would go out on missions, they had more security knowing that the Predator was in front of them, behind them, and even on top of them. The War on Terror is still not over; however, the United States has come a long way in weapons development. With the use of the Predator Drone, America made an impact on Afghanistan.
For example in the essay the author states “ Nothing symbolizes this trend better than the rise of drones...military which rely on their cameras...to their targets”(Houtryve, 450). This quote explaining that as the years go forward the military's use of drones increases and is extremely common to see now as part of the military. Drones such as predator drones are being used by the army to patrol their territory and spy on terrorist. Even though most of drones being used that military are unarmed some are now able to shoot at terrorist. This technology development is leading the military to execute wait more operations and drones in the military are being developed to shoot at designated targets without the humans will.
Despite this magnitude of information, America may not be any better informed. The nature of war journalism has also changed; the Iraq war has introduced the concept of the embedded reporter' to the world. Journalists have unprecedented access, and with the aid of new technologies (such as the video phone, satellite and broadband) news reporters can air slices of the action from the front line within seconds of events unfolding.
Because of the hard work and dedication these teams have put into learning how the enemy operates and the weapon systems encountered on today’s battlefield, all branches of the Armed Forces have been able to adapt to an ever changing operational environment. The War changed technology drastically but the technology changed people´s lives even more. The Tank By far the most important invention introduced during the Great War was the tank. Primitive tanks were introduced for the sole aim of having protected artillery that could break through the defence line but as the war progressed the Tank advanced, with larger guns and more armour. They distribute this information to all their and surrounding agencies that they collaborate with. After the attack on 9/11 against the United States, these agencies have become more important and available. In order to transform a local police agency into an intelligence-led organization, they go through several steps. The first, after strict training and funding is to task and coordination processes. The second is to make and develop the intelligence products to be used in the operations.
But with recent advancement in surveillance technology UAVs are being equipped with sensors and monitors that make the targeting of militants more precise, lowering collateral damage. The MQ-9 Reaper drone is one of Americas flagship UAVs, equipped with cameras that can read a license plate from 2 miles away. The screening process has also undergone reform in the past few years mandating that a target must meet 5 criteria that greatly reduce accidental targeting of non- combatants. ... ... middle of paper ... ...lt to detect on radars allowing them to survey a large area without detection. The reaper can observe a 2x2 square mile area with the help of high-powered camera, and can survey over 40,000 square miles in a day.
They use precision strikes to target and kill suspected terrorists while also providing live images and surveillance for up to 17 hours ("Drones"). Two drones in specific are very common in the military for performing these tasks. The MQ-1B Predator drone is used in "medium altitude, long endurance" missions in which it usually provides images and other resourceful information the military might need (Levs). Whereas, the MQ-9 Reaper drones is used pri... ... middle of paper ... ... the military to use in extinguishing terrorist from performing any more wrongdoings and should remain in use for times to come. In the end, the use of drones for military purposes should continue due to their efficiency and convenience.
