Globalization is not all bad. It was this process that created jobs around the globe and allowed companies to develop and grow to heights never imagined. It also encourages competitiveness among businesses which lowers costs for consumers. Along with these lower costs there is also a wider range of product choices available. Companies such as Wal-Mart and Target are in a constant pricing war to gain loyal customers. Goods made in the United States as well as overseas are now widely available at the touch of a button with little to no effort. This interchange of goods opens the door for cultures to become more tolerant of one another. Furthermore, other countries are assisted by the creation of new opportunities due to the financial and industrial aspects of globalization.
However, the impact it has made on China can be considered to be great as it brought China under the limelight in the global economy. Globalization has had many positive and negative ramifications on the Chinese economy. In the short run, it may be so that the negative impacts outweigh the positive impacts, but that is easily debatable. This is because all the negative impacts of globalization can be corrected with economic policies that can be efficiently undertaken by the Chinese government. In this manner, China in overall will be able to enjoy all the benefits of globalization and contribute more to the rest of the world as it continues to grow economically and socially. In today’s world, globalization is an important part of the development and prosperity of each nation and China too should be able to reap from its benefits. Today, as China proudly holds a place in the global economy as the world’s second largest economy and most populated country in the world, it can be said
China’s trade with the world grew substantially in the first three decades of the 20th century, marking a historic time for the country. In the 1840s, the Chinese economy was strongly closed; however, when Great Britain and other powerful countries pressured their economy, China was willing to open international trade within their own economy. Over the next 60 years, China experienced a small opening of trade amongst other foreign powers, allowing transactions amongst foreigners allowed. The funded railroad aroused industrialization, as well as publicity and overseas shipping (Yan, 2014). The main reason for moderation in China is because they are so much more focused on production rather than consumption. Last year, China’s consumption accounted for 35 percent of their economy; a little over 10 years ago, it was rated that 50 percent accounted for their overall consumption (Reich, 2010). Foreign exports and imports arose dramatically, increasing the yearly expansion rate of trade to about 7.4 percent. The Chinese economies share in world trade grew a little under 2 percent from the late 1800s to the mid 1900s. By the early 20th century, comparative advantage was presented all throughout their economy (Yan, 2014).
Our global world is being more connected as we become integrated politically, socially and even economically. Due to the Bretton woods agreement, different countries have been economically dependent on each other in fear for war to erupt. From then on different organizations and policies tied more countries into being economic globalized. This economic globalization had then given us many opportunities in trades and more access to natural resources in other countries. Unfortunately, there are some negative effects that are brought to less developed country. Overall, many people believe that economic globalization does a great work on accumulating our economy and our quality of life.
In the book Globalization: A Very Short Introduction by Manfred Steger and the reprint Globalization and the Impact of American Popular Culture Abroad by Carl Guarneri, the point is made how recognized globalization has become and how much it has affected citizens around the world. Some of the debates over the effects of cultural globalization are: the West and its multinational corporations after World War II, what it promotes to the world’s people, the views of consumer capitalism’s effects and the repercussions of the globalization of culture.
China is recognized as the oldest civilization in the world. After thousands of years of feudal ruling and numerous dynasties, including the Xia Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty, Qin and Tang, the Communist Party founded the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in 1949. The creation of the People’s Republic of China led the United States to suspend diplomatic ties with them for decades. China located in East Asia and along the west coast of the Pacific, China is approximately 3,700,000 square miles, making it the fourth largest country in the world in size; following close behind the United States and Canada. It has fourteen neighboring countries, more than any other country in the world, except Russia, which also has fourteen. Those countries are:
Globalization has been defined as the speeding up and intensification of economic communication between people, companies and governments of different nations. It has helped raise the standard of living for some and driven deeper into poverty for many other citizenry creations wide. Globalization has possibly affected the humanity negatively in three main ways: poverty increase, culture and health effects.
In the last half century, China has experienced many changes. This includes economic changes, changes to Chinese culture and political changes. Thanks to many past leaders such as Deng Xiapong, China has achieved long periods of economic success and stability. This success has echoed through the world as other economies have benefited from it, Such as neighboring coutnries to China as well as other global econmonies that have invested in buiesness in China. However evne though China has succeedd in it’s in economy and consequently assited other econmonies in doing the same China has also hindered other global econmonies in the process. For example, in 2004 China took mexico’s palce of importing factory goods to the US. China’s econmony has not always beren so great as it recently has, former leaders such as Mao Zedong may have pushed the couty toward a brighter econmonic future but actually lead a goverbment that hindered the Chinese econmony. Overall in the past 60 years ,China has experienced many changes, such as their government, political sturcutre, and leaders. China has changed to communism off and on thorguhout the years but always has had some typeof a dictator. These leaders have greatly contributed to China, as they have used trade/exports, low wages and foreign investment to get China to become the 2nd biggest econmony it is today.
Globalization has, for better or worse, altered the economic arena for every country in the world. For many less developed countries, globalization has leveled the playing field so that their economies can compete with the larger, more developed ones such as the United States and other large western economies. For instance, technical engineers in India and China are now just as qualified as engineers in America, but at half the cost. The once large and prosperous service sector in the United States as well as telemarketing services have largely been sourced to India as a large exodus of American multinational corporations find cheaper workers who deliver comparable quality. This then seems to be the essence of globalization - businesses will go wherever it’s cheaper and more cost effective to do business, but without sacrificing the quality of the product, service, or experience. It follows that developed nations would stand at a considerable disadvantage against developing nations because most business, in terms of the cost of labor, is too expensive to conduct in developed nations as opposed to developing ones. However, Dani Rodrick, a specialist in international political economy, contradictorily asserts that globalization has brought little but good news to those with the products, skills, and resources in developing nations to market worldwide. He points out that for most of the world's developing countries, “the 1990s were a decade of frustration and disappointment. … Most of the former socialist economies ended the decade at lower levels of per-capita income than they started it—and even in the rare successes, such as Poland, poverty rates remained higher than under communism. East Asian economies such as South Korea, Thail...
Globalization helps many people achieve greatness. But for the majority it brings hardships and struggle. People will be plagued by the effects of globalization and will have a tough time over coming it. We are far from reaching a point where we can say we have sustainable prosperity throughout our world. But before we focus in on sustaining prosperity, we must first reach prosperity and bring it to all corners or the earth.
... This has resulted in increased pollution due to livestock releasing methane gas into the air. And due to demand for electrical goods from western countries, it has helped China to produce a capitalist economy. This has enabled China’s citizens to have a prosperous lifestyle, which has increased pollution due to the increase in energy use and waste production. Furthermore, although the Chinese government and its citizens are trying to tackle their environmental problems, it seems to be too little too late.

In 40 years, globalization has become a popular trend in the world. Especially in China, the culture and economy has been influenced by globalization a lot. Shanghai which is one of the biggest and most international cities in China. Because of the policy and the location of Shanghai, this city is becoming a megacity very soon, big business and companies comes and people from different countries live and work here. In China, McDonald and Starbuck are everywhere.
Globalization refers to the absence of barriers that every country had. Yes, it has helped to demolish the walls that separated us .Globalization, which is the process of growing interdependence among every country in this planet, can be seen as a sign of hopeful and better future by some, but for others it represents a huge disaster for the whole world. That’s why we are going to see the negative effect that globalization has on culture then focus on the ethical disadvantage it brought, to finally talk about the damage it did to skilled workers.
Economic globalization has changed the perspective on life today. More low class and middle class citizens are able to have access to food and shelter, unlike the past where high class citizens almost everything, while the low class citizens are living in harsh conditions. As many people have a good life, they are able to have a chance to develop advance our technology today. For example, transnational corporation like Facebook and Skype creates real-time conversations online, which is amazing compared to the past where it would take days or even weeks to communicate with the other person when they are somewhere else. Economic stability has been a problem in our economy since the Great Depression, but as we experience them we are able to learn from it and not make the same ...
