The United States of America has the largest foreign-born population in the world. With nearly thirteen percent of the total population being foreign-born, one may find it hard to imagine an immigrant-free country (U.S. Bureau of the Census). Immigration has been an integral part of the United States’ overall success and the country’s economy since it was established and without it, would have never been founded at all. Although there are some negative issues associated with immigration and many native-born Americans believe to be more of a problem than a solution, overall it actually has a positive effect. Immigrants in America, among other things, fill jobs where native-born Americans may not want to work or cannot work, they contribute to Social Services and Medicaid through taxes and they help provide the backbone of America, especially by working jobs that natives may have not even considered.

Since the 2008-2009 recession the view on immigration and its effects on the economy has been more negative than positive (Peri, 2012). The evidence shows that in the long run, immigrants do not reduce native employment rates. But some evidence suggests that in the short run, immigration may slightly reduce native employment because the economy takes the time to adjust to new immigration. Importantly, this effect varies according to the broader economic environment. In particular, when the economy is growing and the labor market is adding jobs, new immigration creates enough jobs even in the short run (and even for the less-educated) to cause no harm to the net employment of native-born workers. But during economic downturns, things do not adjust as quickly. When the economy is weak, new immigration has a small negative impact in the short run on the employment of native-born workers. If at all possible, why not raise the U.S.’s GDP? The issue of immigration is one that has been known to generate disputes between two or more parties. Many citizens of the U.S. are accustomed to believing everything they hear. There are negatives and positives with our immigration reforms. Most people are too hard headed to listen to both sides of the argument and in some cases, are forced to hear one side of it in regards to the media and their political opinions. Adam Davidson wrote about his experience with a illegal immigrant and what he learned from it. I liked this news journal because he really highlights the good that comes from these immigrants. I could only find few sources siding with illegal immigration and hearing Adams opinions with explanations as to why he views it the way he does is amazing. His ideas are unique and can even make a “one sided” reader think a little harder about their views.

But while policymakers talk about the economic benefits of immigration, many voters remain unconvinced (Ratcliffe, 2014). “British people feel unsettled by the flux and change brought on by immigration. Public attitudes towards immigration are hardening and showing no signs of abating. Immigration poses an ongoing debate in which people are becoming increasingly unsure as to whether immigrants are benefiting their society. This paper will examine three of the main benefits of immigration: the increase in diversity it provides, the rise in skills and labor and the benefits to the economy. Immigration leads to cross-cultural integration, therefore increasing ethnic variety. This increase in diversity is beneficial as it leads to improvements in society, as well as educational development. Increased immigration also means there are more skills and experts available to the hosting countries, as well as extra workers to take up jobs that need filling. Immigration also leads to improvements in the economy as taxes are paid and employment and wages increase.
Nowadays, Immigration, which is a phenomenon of migration, is very normal and popular in the world. Furthermore, in the world, many countries have the large number of people who immigrate because of many reasons likes finding suitable jobs or new place to live. Many people think that immigrants will give them many problems about the economy and society. However, other people think that immigrants bring many profits for their countries. In my opinion, I think that all things have both good and bad sides and immigration is no exception. In the other hand, I think that immigrations will give the host countries more economic benefits than limitations.
Immigration within and into Europe has increased in recent years, with local populations' anxieties raised(Pilcher 2010, p445). I will look at the socio-cultural challenges which immigration introduces. These include the real and perceived impacts on native populations, and the policy responses which stem from the issues. Next, economic well-being is an aspect of the immigration question that will be examined. I will consider soem of the various problems which are encountered in tackling this subject. While attempts to reach conclusions of the de facto effects of immigration in terms of the economies are not made, considering the arguments made may help in gauging the extent of the challenge that immigration poses. I will also examine some of the structural changes which immigration makes in the political sphere, with electoral and representative politics being affected. With constituencies changing significantly throughout several countries, the resultant shifts in terms of policy and governance are concerns which need to be taken seriously.
Migration is a very old process; it started when people moved from one area to another, because of exhausted natural resources. Nowadays people have many different reasons to immigrate such as economical, political, religious and others. Migration can be of temporary or permanent. Temporary migrations may be annual, seasonal or sometimes even of a shorter period, for example, daily. The number of people who migrate from their native countries is getting higher and higher each year. These people can have positive or negative impacts. For example they can share each other’s culture and background, but sometimes they can damage host country’s cultures and the environment, because the immigrants can have different point of view. The best reason for migration is job opportunities; also, because of medical treatment and education, they can be much better in developed countries. Immigration can substantially improve people’s living conditions. However, not all of the UK population is appreciated with a high inflow of immigrant and it causes a lot of discussion.
