An individual may live a “care-free” life not knowing substances they’re consuming, but it will be a short one. People, parents particularly need to take responsibility and educate themselves about the ingredients they consume in their daily diets. Even though the FDA regulates ingredients in consumable products and ensures they’re safe for consumption, it should not stop individuals from applying their own common knowledge/research, because a handful of additives/preservatives in US food products have shown via studies severe health risks in humans; Many additives/preservatives are even banned in other countries, resulting in those countries to use natural alternatives. Several food corporations’ will use ambiguous labeling techniques to misconstrue consumers on what they’re actually purchasing.
First and foremost, individuals must on no occasion read the front label of (advertisement/marketing) consumable products and assume it is credible information, because typically there are chary ingredients; many questioned by brilliant researchers. I assume majority of Americans are familiar with artificial food colorings, which are in several cereals (Fruity Pebbles), baking goods (cookies/cakes/frostings) candy and soda (fruit punch/Gatorade). Livestrong says, “Food colorings, such as Blue #1, Blue #2, Yellow #6 and Red #3, are used in numerous food products, such as sodas, baked goods and candy. The Center for Science in the Public Interest reports that all four of the food colorings have been found to contain cancer-causing properties” (Vandermark, 2013). In addition Frobes states, “After a study in 2007 at the University of Southampton, the six dyes that came to be known as the “Southampton Six” were linked to hyperactivity in chi...
