Agriculture is an important sector with more than 70% of the Indian population related to these profession and earns its live hood by agriculture and allied means of income. Moreover, the contribution of agriculture in growth of GDP is much more as compared to other sector. The sector faces major challenges of enhancing production in a situation of dwindling natural resources necessary for production. Farming Development issues forms an important agenda of the Government. However, the application of ICT in the Farming Development sector has been relatively slow. The main reasons for this are poor ICT infrastructure, poor ICT awareness among agency officials working in these areas and local language issues. ICTs Products in Farming:-

Farming involves risks and uncertainties, with farmers facing many threats from poor soils, drought, erosion and pests. ICTs can deliver useful information to farmers about agriculture like crop care and animal husbandry, fertilizer and feedstock inputs, pest control, seed sourcing and market prices. ICT to make farming practices more environmentally sustainable. In many developing countries, farmers determine fertilizer usage, with retailers typically playing an important role. Studies and practical field experience show that farmers do not often use the proper dose due to lack of appropriate knowledge and other reasons, which in turn leads to increased production costs as well as harm to human health and the environment. One ICT-based solution to this problem is found in the e-Krishok program in Bangladesh. The Fertilizer Recommendation Solution (FRS) is an online tool that guides farmers to know the right dose and type of fertilizer to be used for a specific location and crop. Given a new piece of technology or a new (pesticide),machinery,do they actually go for it or stick to old ways of farming? and why?
What changes have they experienced after using a particular technology? If yes then, is it in economical form or production form and no then any specific reason for it.
What they know about various technologies like " KISAN CALL CENTER", "AGRICULTURE SCIENTIST" ? If they are aware about them, than are they taking advantage of them and if yes then are they really beneficial or not ?

During fieldwork we came to know that the modern day technology which were invented with the purpose of helping farmers in the work, have not been completely successful but also this doesn’t means that they have failed absolutely.
