For the majority of college students, Sunday’s consist of sleeping in, getting ready for the week, and homework. However, for Ian Kunsey, a Sunday consists of football, sports, and more football. “He literally didn’t leave the apartment on Sunday because of football” roommate and friend Reed Stiller stated. Ian loves sports, “even more than people think he does” Stiller added. But the 18-year-old Connecticut native is more than the professional sports encyclopedia he may appear to be. Ian is a Sophomore at Elon University majoring in Cinema and Television Arts with a minor in Sport and Event Management. “It was the perfect combination of my love of sports and my love of film” Kunsey said when discussing how he declared his major. Elon’s football team, known as the Phoenix compete in the Colonial Athletic Association. Ian found the job as part of the university’s PACE program. PACE is a program that helps students find employment on campus to help pay their tuition. After seeing the job posting he instantly knew it was something he wanted to do. “It was the perfect combination of video and sports” Kunsey said. As an, “Assistant Video Producer” Kunsey can be found on the sidelines on game days filming everything including the action on the field and the fans cheering on their team. After the game, he logs the footage and produces content for the team’s social media accounts. On some occasions, Kunsey travels with the team for away games. “It’s amazing that as a Freshmen in college I was able to work for a Division I football team, it’s unreal.” Athletics Video Coordinator Nicholas Andrusisian spoke very highly of Kunsey, describing him as someone, “Who works well under pressure.” “Ian takes initiative, meets deadlines, has low to no entitlement issues.” Andrusisian
