Technology has change the way society has lived; as it changes the understanding the of the way thing are done as well as it changes the way we interconnect with one another. People have become accustomed to the technology on a day to day basis such as in the household to the working environment, ICT is even used as a schooling element to teach children at a young age as primary school pupils. ICT is a new approach of communication and gaining information by ways of media broadcasting news on a weekly or even on a daily basis. However, before going on further one need to have a better understanding of the definition of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). It refers to a process of technologies that provide information via telecommunication. It may also be referred to Information Technology (IT) however it focuses mainly on communication technology (TechTerms.com, 2010). In the essay an attempted will be made to discuss how the Information and Communication Technology would have an impact to the society in a negative a positive manner. Furthermore, an explanation will be undertaken on what knowledge sociologist will gain from the increase in virtual interaction.

Using technology has allowed people to connect with each other in many ways at ease as it has made their duty much easier to access. To conclude, Information and community technology may be used in many ways from communicating with people geographically to using them the workplace. However, using ICT may have pros and cons (so as for many things), but one needs to refer it to the intention of using it. Although ICT has a high impact in the negative aspect as research was done by Morahan- Martin and Schumacher (2000) the positive issues is that there are steps to prevent them from happening such as purchasing a virus protector system as mentioned above. These precautions will aid to guarantee that a high level of safety in any event of cyber-attack.
