Being in the military should choose. Some people aren’t fit for the military. Some people can’t use guns. It might be a religious thing. The great thing about U.S is it’s a choice to be in the military. Some people are fat and not fit for the military. Military takes lot’s of intense workout and things. Some people can’t even touch a gun for religious purpose or use. Some people have heart problems where they can’t run. They run they throw up or might have a heart attack. Some can’t use guns for some reasons. Some people were taught never to touch a gun. There are other things you can be in the military, but usually you are a soldier. Guns are really loud you can go deaf or something use. It should be a choice. People are scared of the
Since the conflict in Vietnam ended, the military has been an all-volunteer force. This means that generally people are in the military because they want to serve, albeit the motivation for service can vary across a wide spectrum of reasons.
Not everybody is willing to risk their lives for others. I think that certain people have strength and bravery to join the army. I think some people go into the Army to better themselves because maybe they are not having a good life back at home so they have no choice but to join the Army for a better life. According to the Defense ManPower Data Center only 0.4 percent of the United States population is in the active military as a whole(Chalabi,2015). The percentage of people who are active in the Army would probably be around 0.2 percent. People who are in the Army probably feel unique because not many people want to join. As a whole I view the members to be dedicated, dependable, and look out for each other and
"A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have what it takes to make a living." When joining the military you must perform your best to protect our country. Tons of men and women around the world fight for the country and make a career out of it. There are three major branches and many different jobs to go with each one. Each have many specific tasks. (Robbie Hughes Interview)
The Marines are the toughest branch of the military. They break you down and build you back up. It requires strength, endurance, and determination. Everyone is not made for the Marines because it is both a physical and mental challenge. You have to be able to take instructions and follow them appropriately.
In 1993, I joined the Army National Guard, as a Mechanic. Soon after enlistment, I realized Army life actually suited me; and, despite never having turned a wrench before, I turned out to be a pretty good mechanic. Through the years, I’ve worked hard in hopes that one day I would reach the top of the Army rank structure. Being promoted to the rank of Sergeant First Class was a major accomplishment. As a senior non-commissioned officer, I felt I had arrived and was perfectly content on retiring at this rank. That is until recently, when I realized the possibility existed that I could become a First Sergeant, the highest ranked non-commissioned officer in the company.
A description of “physically inept” would contain my picture in the dictionary. Physical strength and endurance have never been my strong suits. I tried to match the rest of my platoon’s stamina, but it was no use, I simply wasn’t strong enough. Of course, that didn’t deter my service. On August 10, 1970, I left my home country for a hot, humid, and wet one. As we did in kindergarten, Mark and I stepped foot onto new territory, scared and on the verge of wetting our pants. My newfound belief encouraged me to carry a rosary, I made note to hold it whenever I got scared. That proved to be all the time. He carried the baseball card I got him for his seventh birthday. It was generic, some unpopular baseball player graced the front but I suspect it was the writing on the back he kept it for. That card was a description of our youth: carefree, unashamed, void of fear. “You’re the bestest friend a pal can have.” And he was
We all know this world has had many wars, whether it’d be with another country or a civil war. We know since the beginning of time we’ve always struggled to survive to protect our lands. The United States broke away from the Crown in the Revolutionary war, won over southern states from Mexico, recovered from a brutal civil war, and saved the world from collapsing through two world wars. The US had some rough spots with war also, but the men and women who go to battle for us are all brave souls. The first in to the battle from the Revolutionary War to now, have been the Marines. You have heard of the saying “Semper Fidelis.” Well that stands for “always faithful”, another unofficial motto is “first to fight”. The motto of the Marines has been “Semper Fi” for almost three hundred years. They never back down and never give up. Marines will stare death in the face and won’t back down. They will head to battle with their brothers and sisters knowing that someone has their back as they have someone else’s. That sounds like a life style that I’d want to live.
The United States Marine Corps is a Branch of the U.S. Military that specializes in Aquatic warfare. That means that they are trained to fight from land to sea. They are one of the oldest Branches of the U.S. Military which dates back to November 10 1775 in a tavern named Tun Tavern in Philadelphia. They have been in every major affair in American history from the Revolutionary war to the now and upcoming events in the middle east.
Take a look at the history of our country and the role guns have played in it. According to the second amendment gun ownership is perfectly legal and guaranteed as a right. There were and are good reasons for this, luckily they are still practiced today. Back in the day guns used to be for hunting and, on the occasion self defense. But when the colonists of this country had enough of British rule, they picked up there own personal guns and went to war and the British saw first hand how powerful the rough band of average American gun owners were. Our forefathers knew that the general population if armed would be key in winning the war. And it was.
Physical training where is especially challenging because we had members of seal team four training with us to get there’s they had just graduated from there SEAL school and could run five minute miles all day and night even though I was in good shape is still kick my butt. The normal pace for running at any Army school is a 6 ½ minute mile.
The Sergeant Audie Murphy Club has always been defined by the professionalism, dedication, and expertise of its members. For 32 years the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club has been a beacon of light amongst the Non-Commissioned Officer Corps, showcasing its finest members and providing purpose and direction to the NCO Corps and the Army as a whole. Only the brightest and most dedicated are selected to join its ranks. As a matter of personal and professional pride, I aspire to become a member of this prestigious club because it signifies to others that I am the best and the brightest the NCO corps has to offer, it sets the example for others to follow, and is a challenge that I except and expect to learn and grow from. I understand the induction is
I do think people should be able to have regular guns for hunting and protecting their family, but should not have the right to get military weapons unless they are protecting our country and not killing our own people. In an essay written by Nate Bethea (soldier) in the New York Times (nytimes.com) in June 2016, he feels that if you want to shoot an AR so bad you should feel free to join the fight against ISIS in the military. He does not feel that regular people should own assault rifles, because there are too many risks and not enough benefits. He didn’t want to think that we live in a place that is so dangerous that we should need these types of weapons.
Too many people have died due to mistreatment of a gun. You need to know how to handle a gun, and safety issues that comes with a gun. Some people who shouldn’t carry a concealed weapon are young people, mentally ill people, people with violent felonies, and the young. Some people might think some mentally ill people should carry guns. Some say it depends on the diagnosis of their mental problem.
My mom always tells me not to touch the hot stove. Well some people could think of the military of the hot stove. Some people might think that the military is only about killing even though their accusations are wrong they would be entitled to their opinion. Or some people just might not want to go through all the PT and effort that it takes to be in the military.
Physical training is a very essential part of the army culture. Physical fitness has a direct influence on their combat readiness which also ties into needing to be mentally and physically tough. Being physically fit allows you to be productive and also gives you the opportunity to enjoy even the little things in life. It also allows you to be able to adapt and survive through tough living conditions. Having the proper diet and exercise can improve a person’s quality of life. Maintaining a high level of fitness helps you perform at higher levels throughout your life. Healthy muscles are less susceptible to to injury, less likely to tear and give in to stress. Which is why it’s important to take care of your body. Soldiers who don’t meet military fitness standards risk being discharged or maybe disciplinary actions.
