There are several reasons why I can say I would like to become a respiratory therapist, the respect that respiratory practitioner receive, the importance and the involvement that respiratory care has in patient care, for one day I will be working with all kinds of patients, from peds to the elderly, from subacute patients to the critically ill. I also enjoy seeing a patient who was under my care in the intensive care unit (ICU), now being discharged and knowing that I played a part in the patient’s ability to go home. The knowledge and the way a respiratory care practitioner can critically think in stressful times. I'm a kind of person that get involved, take the initiative and set the pace to accomplish what needs to be done.The final reason I can think of right now is that I'd like to be a part of the healthcare team providing care to patients. My mom said that my aunt and cousins have also an asthma when they were kids, this situation motivate me to take this course so that I can help all the patients with the lung and heart problems. Skyline college offer a respiratory care program that is accredited for two-year program and the program also offers an Associate of Science Degree in Respiratory Care which allows a graduate to become a licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist and also affords the opportunity to attain a higher level of credentialing (Registered Respiratory Therapist) that provide instruction and clinical practice. A student like me will learn from dedicated instruction who have practical experience in the field and will gain valuable hands-on experience through 800 hours of clinical and practice coordinated with sites in San Francisco and San Mateo

Communication is key in any relationship or job a person has. People must be able to communicate with others to get things accomplished. When communication isn’t good, a lot of problems may arise. That is why communication is such an important quality to have. Along with communication, adaptability is very important. Life doesn’t always work out as we plan so we must be able to handle anything that is thrown our way. Being able to adapt in all different situations or places is very helpful. It means a person can be thrown into anything and figure out what to do.
I find occupational therapy to pique my drive to teach people valuable life skills as well as learn from those people and their experiences. Being an occupational therapist would allow me to have one-on-one interactions with patients and establish meaningful relationships over the course of time. It would also give me the dutiful privilege and responsibility of instilling confidence in others and helping them realize their full potential in self-suffiency. Is Medical Assisting a great job for me in the future world? Medical assisting is a job that you help people with. This job includes things like taking blood samples, giving shots, check-ups, etc. Any interests I have had within this career is that you help others, prescribe medicine if they are in need, being prompt and taking care of others. Related talents to this career that I have is enjoying helping people, experiencing blood, doing regular check-ups etc. I have selected medical assisting as a career because its easy/ great training in under a year, employment growth, and flexible schedule. I believe that being a medical assisting is the best career for me.
From the moment I graduated high school and entered college, my heart’s desire was to become a physical therapist. As I journeyed through my education at Temple, I met and overcame dozens of obstacles and hardships, as all college students do. Over the past year, I have had to make several decisions regarding my post-undergraduate education as my original career goals seem to be unattainable. Recently, I decided to continue my education with a degree in nursing. I was skeptical given that I wanted to be a physical therapist for so long. But the one motto I have and will always live by is, “Everything happens for a reason.” This motto was brought about by stoicism in the 3rd century B.C. 1. Many people have multiple reasons why they want to be able to help others in their everyday jobs. My attraction to being a Speech Language Pathologist is because I want to be able to people overcome their speech problems. As a Speech Language Pathologist I want to be able to help people that have speech problems, overcome this problem and be able to be independent without needing the help of myself or other people that are trying to talk to them. I personally know their feelings and have actually been in their shoes to know how frustrating life can be trying to talk and have someone else talk for you.
I’ve always want to be something in the medical field since I was younger, but physical therapy never came across my mind until I was told by a friends mom that it was something she could see me being very good at. Ever since then I’ve been interested in it. Physical therapist think of and follow through with treatment plans for people who are injured or have an illness to help them move better, increase their strength, and/or relieve pain. I think I would be a good fit for this job because I enjoy working with people and I am very patient with people.

Many people rush through their daily life without contemplating their actions, thereby missing vast opportunities for achievement. They waste valuable time engaging in frivolous matters instead of putting their energies towards more productive and meaningful purposes. In the words of the Dalai Lama: “Life is not about acquiring money and other facilities; it is about dedicating your life to helping others as much as you can.” The immeasurable value of helping others has been engrained in me since childhood. As a result of my own difficult family circumstances, I have become more sensitive, kind and mindful towards others and their own situations. I have developed a passion for helping others, which, in combination with a proclivity towards medicine has lead to my descion to become a Physician Assistant. I want to live a life where I can provide healthcare and aid to anyone who needs.
If I had to look back at the elementary school version of myself and someone mentioned the word nurse to me my first thought was that is a girl’s profession. While I was interested in medicine I never knew much about the careers in medicine. I have two older brothers, one become a computer analyst the other a computer programmer and my father was a mechanical engineer. In addition, nobody in my family had been involved in the medical field so I had no one to turn to gain knowledge about careers in medicine. Naturally I wanted to follow in my family’s footsteps so I decided I wanted a career in technology.
I want to be a nurse, specifically a nurse practitioner. I have always been fascinated with the medical field and see a bright future in it for me. I have the opportunity of meeting new people every day with a variety of personalities. There is always something new to discover in this field. A nurse practitioner's job is to be able to diagnose and treat illnesses. They also prescribe medicine and run physical exams. I am highly interested in pursuing the career of a nurse practitioner because the healthcare field is always in need for medical professionals, it pays well, and I am helping people at the same time.
In the twenty-first century there are numerous jobs in the world. Why I want to be a nurse? I have asked myself this question numerous times, and have come up with a variety of answers. I think that being a nurse just embodies the characteristics that I have innately had and characterizes the person I am now. Nursing is more than a profession to me; it encompasses my life in every aspect. Nursing challenges me, nothing is ever exactly the same each day. There are so many opportunities in nursing and so many ways to challenge myself and learn new things.
Ever since I can remember, I have always dreamt of a career in medicine. I have always had a passion of saving others people's lives. Registered nurses have a high level of respect in the medical field for quite a few different reasons. Considering nurses help save lives and care for people in their time of need, there exists a pronounced deal of pride nurses have because of what they do. Registered nursing is my dream career, but in order to become one, I must accomplish multiple goals and meet various requirements. First, I must meet the extensive educational requirements needed to become a registered nurse. Second, I will need to make sure I can meet all of the job requirements-both mental and physical. Lastly, nursing offers various personal benefits both in and out of the workplace. For these reasons, I believe nursing is the ideal career for myself to work with.
