“I See Dead People…Again.” From the second you are born, various factors begin to influence your life. As we are learning in class, factors such as APGAR scores, low birth weight, breastfeeding, postpartum depression, attachment and temperament, daycare, and parenting abuse all play a role in the development of a child. The first few years of life, specifically the first year, have a lasting impact on a child’s life. Cleo, Elizabeth, Sebastian, Benjamin, and Tyrone serve as great examples of how our early years impact us in life. It sounds like Cleo is doing great so far and these positive factors will be an important part of the future stages of her development. She is growing to be a happy, healthy toddler in a loving and caring family. She has authoritative parents which is very beneficial to her development. This means that they are both very loving and nurturing while setting reasonable rules and limits. Her parents have set firm rules that they stick to, which can be seen in the fact that she knows her chores have to be completed to keep things running smoothly on the farm.
