Part 1: What I know about becoming a Pediatrician

Pediatrics is the specialty of medicine that contains infants, children, and adolescents. Most Pediatricians deal with different diseases that children get in different ages. Pediatricians also teach parents about safety and nutrition for their kids. To become a Pediatrician, I need more than fourteen years of education. These fourteen years start right after high school. In my four years of college, I need to major in biology or pre-med that would help me to become more successful in my courses. After four years of university, I need to take a test called Medial College Admission test (MCAT). This test helps me to get into medical school. After taking the test, I need to attend another four years of medical school. During my four years of medical school, I will learn the basics about medicine. After four years of medical classes, I have to choose one of the medical branches. I will choose pediatrics. After having two or three years of special study of Pediatrics, I would advance to the next level of medical school, which is residency. Residency takes about three years of working in different hospitals for minimum wage. After fourteen years, I will graduate from medical school.

Part 2: What I want to find out

What I want to find out about becoming a Pediatrician is how long exactly it takes to become a pediatric doctor? I want to find out what is the difference between adult and child medicines. In addition, what other specialty could a Pediatrician have? The other thing that I want to find out about is post- graduate training and how this training helps Pediatricians to become more successful in their career.
