I Am A Great Semester

I would like to begin by saying that this has been a great semester. You took an activity that I completely hated to do, and you have made it bearable, which in an educational setting, is hard to do. You 've taught me the importance of my work, which has made me appreciate and value you it to a higher degree. You taught me to follow the writing process and to trust in myself. You taught me valuable skills that I will continue to use as I further my education. Most of all you taught me to be confident in myself, and my work, and for that I will be forever grateful. I know at times, it seemed like I was disengaged, like I couldn’t care less, but I was always listening and taking it in. I was just also crawling out of my seat uncomfortable. Alrighty let’s see, the first assignment we had this semester was the "Dear Malcolm Letter". I actually really loved this assignment. All too often, the professor is only seen as the person who gives boring lectures all day long, not for who they really are. I also believe that this is a good way to not only learn about me, but all of my fellow students. I respect teachers who can just remember their student’s names, but for you to go out of your way to know different things about each of us, it 's honestly outstanding. I liked this assignment because it gave me an opportunity to freely express my thoughts. Although I am not that good at describing myself, I got my friends’ help as to what I should write about. Overall, this was a great and well appreciated assignment to start the semester off with. Let’s see, the next major assignment was the Literacy Narrative. As I thought about this assignment, and heard other students discuss their ideas, I was concerned I wouldn 't be able ... ... middle of paper ... ...ny new things including scene-based writing and topic proposals. I think the format that Weebly provided was very beneficial, I could easily present my work, but also images and videos that related to my topic. My favorite part of the semester had to be the blog posts. The main reason for this, is that it allowed me to read articles and watch videos that expanded my horizon, and was eye-opening. The Suli Breaks video, Why I Hate School but Love Education, was my favorite blog post of the entire semester. It had a very large impact on me when I watched it, it offered me a way to express myself in a way I hadn 't known before. Each blog post that we did, required reflection and soul searching, which was weird, but it felt like a breath of fresh air. This has been a very good semester and I learned a lot, all thanks to you. So thank you, and have a great summer.
