Let everyone spread the news and the information about human trafficking. Everyone needs to know and help those who are still chained down in the lifestyle of human trafficking. If everyone tries to help and warn each other, maybe everyone will get a chance to live life freely. Human trafficking is modern slavery, and it needs to stop. Only if poverty, the greed of criminals, and the lack of government control did not exist then it would not cause so many problems and the victims would not have to suffer with the consequences.
Those women and girls are actually forced into prostitution (David M. Smolin, 2005). Others are forced to be used by men because of the position of their family, as they are in the low-class. Parents sell their daughters to men for two main reasons. First of all, some parents are giving their daughters to men because of poverty. Conferring to UNICEF, young women are manipulated to prostitution in the global financial sex trade.
(Ahmed) Society needs to raise awareness of human trafficking and prostitution. Not enough people know what is going on, and this is huge global problem. Then we need to make the purchase of sex illegal, not prostitution as a whole. The women who are caught in the act will be sent to a place for “rescued” sex workers that offer medical care, counseling, and schooling. If women can find a different way to make money, they will stop partaking in prostitution.
Effects of Sex Trafficking In order to understand how sex trafficking affects its victims, one must first know the severity of sex trafficking and what it is. The issue of sex trafficking affects 2.5 million people at any given time (Abas et al., 2013). The form of sex slavery affects many women and children across the world. Even though both males and females are sexually trafficked and exploited, there is a deep emphasis on the sexual exploitation of women and children. This is due to gender discrimination (Miller, 2006).
Since typically pimps make their “girls” bring in a certain amount of money either a day or a week, then if a woman gets arrested and is unable to obtain income then she could be at risk of physical assault from her pimp for lack of payment. One important take away fact is that although prostitution is illegal in most parts of the United States, prostitutes are murdered per capita more in the United States than any other country in the world (McClintock, 1993).
There are children as young as three and four who are being sold for child pornography, why? Their parents can’t afford to feed them, nor can they afford to supply needs for the rest of the family. Those parents only hope is to sell their child and get a little money to help support the rest of the family for a short time. Around the world “approximately eight in ten of the suspected incidents of human trafficking investigated by federally funded task forces were classified as sex trafficking” (“Victims of Crime”). On top of being raped by several men, these victimized women are being drugged and abused, and possibly even killed.
These are individuals that have been subject to exploitation and serious human rights violations. Whereas governments tend to be concerned about human trafficking primarily because of links between human trafficking and other forms of organized crime as well as fears of illegal immigration, trafficking is first of all a threat to the individuals – men, women and children – that are trafficked. The average age for a child is 13 to 14 years old. The victims may be forced to have sex 20-48 times a day. Traffickers persuade or force victims to travel with them. They usually promise the girls a job, education, a better life, or security for the victims family. Traffickers who run or control the girls in sex trafficking are called “pimps.” Pimps prey on girls who seem like they have a past of being abused by someone or have a bad home life and are wanting to get out.
The predators frequently use a Sudanese phrase known as “use a slave to catch slaves,” most often traffickers dispatch certain victims to help recruit young teens into the sex trade. Sex traffickers often recruit children because not only are children more unsuspecting and vulnerable than adults, but there is also a high market demand for young victims. Traffickers target victims on the telephone, social media, through friends, at the mall, and in extracurricular programs. Many traffickers train these young women such as raping them and forcing them to learn sex acts. A 2003 study in the Netherlands found that, on average, a single sex slave earned her pimp at least $250,000 a

Greed and perversion disguised as men chose to debase America’s women and children for their own selfish gain.
