What exactly is human trafficking? It is a modern type of slavery that uses people for reasons of work through trade and transport. This suppression varies with age, gender, and has many different types of methods. Also, human trafficking can affect anyone and everyone. Human trafficking is becoming more prevalent around the world. This is a very serious crime that needs more attention. To begin, human trafficking is used for many different deeds. Each one varies for both gender and age. For example, the victims of human trafficking can be put into three populations. Victims of human trafficking have diverse socio-economic backgrounds, varied levels of education, and may be documented or undocumented.” (4). The quote displays that people from all different types of backgrounds can be pulled into the web of human trafficking. This illustrates how large of an industry human trafficking really is. Some might say that human trafficking should not be a top priority, but if law enforcement doesn’t get more involved the problem could only get worse which in return, puts more innocent people in harm’s way.
