Human rights in America are sustained by a devotion to the nation’s sense of prosperity. The United States supports rights, freedoms, and values, outlined in documents written long ago, for all American citizens. Countless people of America benefit from the protection of these basic human rights every day. There are people from around the world that deeply desire to be part of this nation, known as the land of opportunity, because it honors those rights for all people.

These freedoms express basic human rights. American citizens are allowed to express their opinions in newspapers, magazines, on television and online. They are able to voice opinions and criticisms on all forms of media even if they are not favorable. Any American citizen who wants to protest about public issues, such as abortion, gun control, or even against the President, all have the right to speak out. Allowing citizens to freely discuss public affairs, helps to construct and support a democratic system of government and liberty that is experienced in the United States …show more content…

Whether one is African American, Asian, White, or Hispanic, everyone gets the same rights as a citizen. Everyone gets the right to a basic education. There are public schools, compulsory and available for free, from Kindergarten through High School. Everyone has a “right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services [...]” (Document 5). Everyone has the right to a choice of settlement. Everybody has the right to work and the choice of profession. Anyone can work for the most preeminent business or the most inferior occupation.
