Do we really have human rights is a common question that is asked. Human rights are the automatic rights that everyone is born with just because we are human. Human rights are universal and are the same for everyone no matter our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status. This principle was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in the Universal Declaration on Human Rights in 1948 (Payne, R , 2010). There are 30 articles listed in the human rights that we are all supposed to follow but are we all really following them?
If we all as people have globally agreed to these rights then why are people still getting murdered, lacks of shelter, starving, and discriminated against? My question is who will be next? Who will be the next victim due to the neglecting of the basic human rights if this policy is not fixed? Neglecting human rights is affecting us all everywhere in the world, whether it is locally, federally, or even universally. It also is against our civil liberties.
