Human Resources are an essential function within an organization. The Human Resource Department has the responsibilities that will allow agencies to remain competitive and achieve their goals (site source). Compasión started out as a small company and rapidly grew within their first year of business. Companies who grow quickly experience growing pains (site source). Compasión crossed a lot of bumps in the road because they were not equipped to handle the growth from the start of the company. The company lost money due to their lack of resources and organizational structure of the company. The agency can cut the training expenses by selecting an employee to become a certified trainer. Other benefit that may assist with improving their turnover rate is increasing their leave policy to include sick time and personal days. The agency should also offer day care assistance program. There are a number of single parent counselors that are employed with Compasión would find this beneficial, especially since the agency requires staff to attend a weekly staff meeting from 6p.m. to 8p.m. A contingency plan would also be beneficial to remain compliant with regulations and increase employee safety. It will also assist with boosting employee morale because when the agency is under staffed it places more work and responsibilities on the employees causing them to feel underappreciated. The overall goal to organizations is to increase their profit and market value (site source). Strategic Human Resources allows the agency to put strategies in place to assist organizations with achieving this goal.
