Therefore since we need glucose all the time we store glucose mainly in our livers. This is so the important tissues in the body can keep getting a constant supply of blood glucose. The components of homeostasis There are three main components of homeostasis a receptor to detect a change, a control center, and an effector to direct an appropriate response. The receptors in the human body are the alpha and beta cells, the control center is the pancreas and the effectors are the liver muscles and fat cells.
