Paper filing system may have worked in the past, but the future is digital
Historically, most legal departments filed paper copies of their documents in filing cabinets. This organizational method worked in the past, but the needs and demands of modern law firms require a more efficient legal matter management system.
When Rheem Manufacturing Company found that its paper filing system was no longer serving the needs of its legal department, the Company implemented Legal Files Software.

“The largest portion was product claims. We also had lots of photographs which were related to product claims that we couldn’t attach to our existing systems, or were difficult to attach. They were filed separately. We were receiving an increasing number of documents via email, especially documents for intellectual property concerns. We would receive multiple patent and trademark documents attached to one email. There wasn’t an easy way to file and retrieve those. So we ended up printing the electronic information and putting the hard copies into paper files. We were physically running out of

To accomplish anything in life, there needs to be a planned path on how to get there. This especially applies to gaining muscle. The goal I set was to gain 0.20 pounds of muscle per week for a total of 0.40 pounds of muscle from March 11 through March 25, 2016. Focusing on this goal will enable me to do the following: drop body fat while reshaping my body composition; increase physical strength and endurance; and feel better mentally and emotionally.
In the Paralegal field, many things have switched to an electronic system. Law offices are now using “E-filing” to file documents with some courts. They have also started converting their files to an electronic file, thus making it easier to pull cases that are closed. Technology has
Often technology provides some of the most cost effective and fastest communication through various networks like the internet such that one can easily interact without any difficulties. In today’s world, information technology is considered as an entity, this is because more and more systems have become interdependent to the internet, so without it these systems will fail to continue with their normal operations (Riedman,2017) . Information technology is a sector that needs to be properly secured from various security threats such as cyber-attacks, espionage, spyware, physical theft cases or malicious attacks from viruses such issues may occur and lead to loss of data, physical damage of hardware or unauthorized access to private and confidential documents. I would recommend installation of backups for the systems to avoid disruptions, duplicates should also be made and stored in a quite different system from the original document. The owners should also ensure the systems are secured to avoid unauthorized access and to prevent environmental
Automated is transform the materials or records into digital form. As the era of the technology present, the demanding of digital records is drastically increased. Automated records may present archivists their greatest challenge in identifying, selecting, and preserving records of enduring value. Since the introduction of the computer, archivists have been concerned about its impact on their profession's mission. Based on report by the National Archives of Canada on machine-readable data stated that "if one were to take the traditional archival approach of waiting for whatever recorded information came out of the system, then the archivist in the electronic age will undoubtedly die of information starvation."23 Over the past decade archivists have tried to redefine their role in the modern information age, 24 but many seem to have been merely paying lip service to society's major shift to an "information" era. At present one can count on one hand the number of major programs established to deal with automated records, and these are only located at some of the largest archival institutions - The National Archives of Canada, the U.S. National Archives, and the New York, Utah, and Kentucky state archives. Contrast this with the facts: computers have been used for three decades, personal computers have become an ubiquitous feature of society in just the past decade, and a major portion of all information presently being created is going into automated systems of some variety. Nevertheless, there is overwhelming evidence that archivists are not effectively appraising such information nor using the helpful findings of previous research. 25 Current research is, however, both innovative and promising. Archivists have made substantial pro...

The underlying drivers of Porter’s Five forces are the root causes of profitability within the tax software industry, however; particular drivers in each force make the industry unique. Two barriers to entry, economies of scale and government policies, generate the majority of profitability in the industry. Firms with the largest market share have little unit cost after software development and implementation. These large economies of scale decrease unit costs for a firm, and increase start-up costs for entrants. Firms that have electronic servers of scale limit the ability for entrants to compete, as the costs to create and maintain nationwide servers are exorbitant. In addition, the changing governmental policies and initiatives for e-filing also increases barrier to entry. In recent years the IRS has eased the ability for residents to e-file, causing an annual increase of 6% in e-files over the last few years.[11] Additionally, companies that can access IRS servers, create software that incorporates the complexities of the IRS code, and produce software that updates annually, sustain a competitive advantage over new entrants. Concurrently, suppliers of computing and programming threaten forward integration due to the small size of software development projects compared to a firms overall business. Suppliers create the necessary technology to process tax returns making forward integration relatively cheap. Forward integration also provides additional revenue streams, such as when Intuit purchased TurboTax and Lacrete to increase Intuits product differentiation. [12] Conversely, buyer power is minimal. Buyers that integrate backwards and consume tax software companies do not profit directly because tax filing is a periodi...
"Although fully searchable text could, in theory, be retrieved without much metadata in the future, it is hard to imagine how a complex or multimedia digital object that goes into storage of any kind could ever survive, let alone be discovered and used, if it were not accompanied by good metadata" (Abby Smith). Discuss Smith's assertion in the context of the contemporary information environment

Nowadays with the implementation of new emerging technologies, the way businesses keep this financial information has become computerised. At the moment businesses use computers with a computerised accounting system in order to perform many other new activities than what they were able to do in the past. Businesses can access financial information from different department in the organisation, access to the information through computers and find financial data very fast, being more efficient.
