This applies to a team because you always have to be able to connect and motivate others around you while being in a team setting. Also, due to the emphasis of motivation and follower development, this fits the needs of today’s work groups who want to be empowered to succeed at a higher level. This shows how Transformational Leadership is very important within teams to better motivate each person to become better as a whole. Transformational leadership influences followers to reach a point where they thought they couldn’t reach. Mohandas Gandhi is a perfect example of a transformational leader.
Also to make the right, timely and sound decisions are another quality of a leader. Setting the examples as I added before is another positive approach to good leadership. This can be practiced by teaching our people how to set their goals. The Leader should work hard to develop the sense of responsibility among his/her people. Another base for a strong leadership is to bring out all the capabilities of your people by making them enjoy the team spirit.
Leaders should possess values t... ... middle of paper ... ...thers. Living authentically and with integrity enables the leader to develop their passions, resulting in a commitment to hard work and dedication, as well as growth and learning. Pushing through the challenges of a full commitment to this lifestyle of leadership requires a sense of humor and a willingness to re-align one’s life to one’s passions. A leader who stands out will motivate their followers to reach success through their individual and collective efforts. A good leader must be faithful to his team and activities which will create an atmosphere of assurances with the team.
I have always afforded and made them even with being multi-tasked with deadlines to work with and mentor my team members to develop their leadership’s skills since they are the future leader of the organization. My leadership philosophy has always been to teach my team members to analyze all aspects of a problem to determine the best solution and results regardless of their individual or personal views or beliefs. This enables them to make sound and responsible decisions to the solution of a problem and develop a strong strategic solution with achievable and measurable results. These leadership skills are critical and essential to the job I do and the team I lead since any decision not thought through or
Successful managers, do however practice leadership process in terms of inspiring and motivating the team. o Leaders tend to set goals and recognize effort and encourage the team to try their best and deliver quality
According to me, I am still learning and trying to become a great leader. For me, the most important characteristics a leader should have is the ability to set herself/himself as an example and whom people remember for his/her good deeds. I want to be a leader who brings positive changes and make an organization move forward successfully with accomplished goals. However,
This is how I will incorporate self-leadership into my leadership model while leading project teams. A high level of self-confidence will show in my behavior, my body language, how I speak, and what I say. This will give off a positive “can do” attitude that will motivate others around me. I know that what I put in as a leader is exactly what I will get out. I also know that as a
I take the information and put them together to use in reaching a decision, because I know that I will have the final say as the leader of the group. I believe that the group is put together for a reason, so no one should be made to feel that their input does not count, so I carry everyone along but reserve the final say to myself. I like to consult with all the team members before reaching a decision; I encourage and appreciate the efforts of my team. Some of the strengths of this leadership style are that it increases job satisfaction by involving team members, and also helps to develop people’s skills. With this leadership style, team members feel in control of their destiny, so they are motivated to work hard by more than just a monetary reward.
Demonstrating mutual respect is very important to me because I believe in it. Whether I am in a leadership position or not, I will not allow my values and beliefs to be compromised for my selfish gain or from the pressure of others. As Heifetz said in Leadership without Easy Answers, to lead and yet sustain the personal stresses that come with leading requires inner discipline. Even if I am no longer in a position to lead, I will continuously strive to learn and observe so that I can become a good leader who supports others and myself in everything that I do. My leadership will relentlessly be developing and show who I am and how I am; especially now that I am learning it formally here in the C4C course.
