How to open Microsoft Word 2013:

1. Click on the Start Button.

2. Click on “All programs”.

3. Go to the Microsoft Office menu and click it.

4. Select Microsoft Word 2013 and click on it

Word will launch.

This location is called the recycle bin. It is situated on the desktop. Files that are deleted are sent here for temporary storage until either deleted permanently or recovered.

When not in an application push “F1” this will bring up the Windows help function. It will give help on phrases and keywords that the user types in the search bar. If no help can be found by the function it will search the internet for more information (CTI Education Group, 2013).

Changing settings to “single click to open file”

1. Open the Control Panel.

2. Click on “Folder Options” to open up the settings for folders.

3. On the first tab there will be a section called “Click items as follows”.

4. Under it, tick the option “Single click to open an item (point to select)”.

5. Apply the settings.

From now on, one click will open a file or folder (Microsoft Corporation, 2006).

How to recover files from the Recycle Bin

Open the recycle bin. Scroll through the deleted files/folders. Right click on the desired file/folder. Select “Restore”. The file/folder will be restored to the location it was deleted from.
