As we all know, diseases like AIDS and HIV are a growing epidemic amongst society. To counteract the spread of such diseases many foundations have been created to spread awareness of the harm they can do and how they can be contracted. Epstein, an author, writes an article about a foundation called “Lovelife” that advertises the importance of safe sex. There are a vast amount of ways to combat diseases, but the most vital way is spreading knowledge amongst the population. A good approach to this is for parents to build strong tie relationships amongst the youth. Malcolm Gladwell writes an article about how crucial strong ties are for social change. In order to stop the progression of these detrimental diseases, societies must create foundations spreading awareness about them and people should work as a community to help spread AIDS awareness. Parents also should inform their kids about these diseases. Many different countries have implemented these procedures amongst their population which seemed to be beneficial. ...ally the youth. Foundations like Lovelife and TobaccoFreeFlorida have taken effort in doing so in countries like South Africa and in the state of Florida. There also needs to be strong ties amongst the youth and their parents. With this they can inform their children about the dangers of risky behavior at a much deeper level than any foundation can. Communities can help benefit because they help support those who have been afflicted by AIDS and other illnesses and they also hold seminars explaining the danger of AIDS and risky behaviors. This includes the online community also, because fundraisers can be set up to financially support AIDS victims and it’s the fastest way to sending information to thousands of people at once. If society can implement these factors in the fight against AIDS, HIV and other illnesses, mankind has a new hope in solving the AIDS epidemic.
