For this movie review, I decided to watch and analyze the film Hoosiers. Hoosiers was released in 1987 and was directed by David Anspaugh. It is a classic sports film that keeps viewers on their toes by having many suspenseful moments. It was inspired by a true story about another school from Indiana. Gare Joyce said,“"Hoosiers" boasts a believable story line (because it was based on the 1954 Milan "Miracle" team, the smallest school to win Indiana's state crown).” The movie is rated PG and runs almost two hours long. They did not even think they would ever have a chance to make it that far. In the end they ended up winning the 1952 State Championship in Indianapolis and shocking everyone even their selves. They never gave up in the film and that is really inspiring.
Roger Ebert said, “Everybody in this movie seems to be trying to start over in life, and, in a way, basketball is simply their excuse.” In this film every one was trying to overcome their problems. The team was over coming their losses and to show everyone they can win, Dale was overcoming his past and Shooter was trying to overcome his alcohol problem. Each one of these people was all connected to basketball to help them overcome these
