Basically conflict is known to be a serious disagreement or argument between two or more parties. And resolution is the resolving of a problem or dispute between two or more parties. Joyce and William Wilmot’s definition describes conflict – as an expressed struggle between at least two interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from other parties in achieving their goals.
Gulnur Aybet under the ‘tools and concepts of the scale of conflict management’ describes the four ways in which the media can make a follow up in influencing conflict resolution in Africa.
The first way is pre-conflict; this is before the conflict arises or it’s not known. The media can make mention through various mediums

Global news networks and various social networks have been created in communication technologies. In fact, Global news networks broadcasts live from any place in the world to any other place. For instance, the war in Syria is broadcasted live sometimes on Al-Jazeera. The media can use Global news networks to influence conflict in Africa.
Commentators and Scholars have invented the term “CNN effect” to describe how dominant global television coverage has become in world affairs, especially in acute international conflict. For example, the Boko Haram in Nigeria causing conflict among the country, the CNN effect covers the story up to date to keep the audience alert on new changes that have taken place. The internet basically reaches to anyone who possesses a smart phone and access information easily.
This can indeed bring one to say that the ways in which the media influence conflict resolution in Africa is a controversial one. Media basically contributes positively or negatively to resolving conflict in Africa. Arno (1984) recalled the argument that communication about certain kinds of issues can create or intensify conflict. While Van de Veen (1997) says that many advocates of conflicts prevention are convinced that the media play a role in influencing tensions and forging

Secondly, the media determines its sources for stories by putting the best journalists on the case and assign them to areas where news worthy stories just emanates. (p.400). Third, the media decides how to present the news by taking the most controversial or relevant events and compressing them into 30 second sound-bites. (p.402). finally, the authors also explain how the media affects the general public. The authors’ state “The effect of one news story on public opinion may be trivial but the cumulative effect of dozens of news stories may be important. This shows a direct correlation between public opinions and what the media may find “relevant”. (Edwards, Wattenberg, Lineberry, 2015, p.
Conflict is definitions, examples and anecdotes. To respond you can discuss your problems with someone, protesting, ignoring and more. A conflict is a serious disagreement between people. When people sense disagreement they tend to feel uncomfortable. The best way to respond to conflict is by having an emotional outlet.
Conflicts arise when people’s interest, values, actions, views or expectation come into contact and there is a difference of opinion and thus a disagreement (Conerly, 2004). The way people view the conflict will determine whether the resolution will negative or positive consequences.

Everyday people around the globe watch countless hours of television. Many of these hours consist of fictional entertainment shows that have no bearing on the outside world. Although many people do watch local news networks, most of these stories do not effect people around the globe. Only a few networks such as The Cable News Network (CNN) and Fox News are around the clock news networks. These networks are able to pick and choose the information in which they make available to the public and spin the stories to form a bias of the people. Many times this is done without viewers knowledge as they do not have time to check other news sources to back the information up. News broadcasts benefit the public in that they are able to relay information and make it easily available to the public. These stories are then able to help combat corruption, as viewers are then able to use their voices to take action. However some news outlets misinform people by giving out wrong information, as well as twisting the facts to create a biased viewer.

In political terms, "conflict" refers to an ongoing state of hostility between two groups of people. (Wikipedia: Verbatim copying.)
Well conflict can be defined in different ways whether it is problems with another person or disagreeing with somebody that does not agree with you the one thing we do know for sure is that conflicts are bad really bad.
John Lennon once said, "If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there 'd be peace." In other words, he believed that the media was something that corrupted society and debased its morals. Media has always been around us; whether it is a persuasive billboard or a television commercial. It is inevitably everywhere bombarding society with violence. Today people are accustomed to this type of media, but one cannot neglect the correlations between some past incidents and media violence. Media coverage of violence is harmful to society since it has been associated with glamorizing crimes, causing children to behave aggressively, and creating motivation for criminals. Diminishing changes such as censoring the media and creating
For years, the population has been exposed to different forms of media. Newspapers, magazines, television, films, radio, and more recently the Internet are ways of promoting ideas, spreading news, and advertising products.
By highlighting the events around the world and their significance for the society, media plays an instrumental role in forming the opinion of the masses.
In conclusion, the medium is the message. The way that information is presented to us plays a key role in our understanding of the topic itself. By framing the crisis in Egypt a particular way, both the old and new media sources are able to give the audience two separate understandings of the social and cultural issues at hand. The media is less interested in telling the audience about the actual story and more interested in the underlying messages of society they provide. These underlying messages lead us to define social and cultural issues the way that the media want us to. Since the media sell us both products and ideas, both personalities and worldviews, the message becomes the medium.
