Data is sourced from books, articles, but largely from the internet. The internet provides universal resources filled with data on various topics that is accessible to the entire world, at any time or day. The data that is provided might not be accurate and from an incredible source. Users assume that if the data is written in print, then it is a credible source. When researching on the internet, there is guidelines for users to follow. These guidelines are set to provide the user in retrieval of accurate data. The internet is also used for social media, users set up profiles to communicate to people that they may or may now know. Social media provides us an insight into people’s thoughts, feelings and what they are or have been doing; by reading status updates and viewing photos the user has displayed for their followers to see. The various forms of social media websites is not only for individual use, but for companies to promote their businesses due the popularity of social networking. Majority of data displayed on social media is not based on facts, but personal views of individuals. There are profile pages that display accurate data, but these websites display a link to a website and a blog from the author stating their experience and knowledge on the specific area being discussed. I have never experienced online team work, which my first experience turned out to be beneficial as I worked well with my team members. The team members and I used group building exercises by encouraging other team workers to make a contribution to the assessment, gate-keeping the other team members that never showed or disappeared during the assignment by allowing sufficient time to contribute, and listening to one another to hear everyone’s views on the assessment (Jacques and Salmon, 2007). Working as part of a team online, was a useful tool that required regular updates and daily discussions with other team members. The positives of online collaboration was that the entire conversation is documented, and can be referred back to if required due to any misunderstandings. I liked the concept of each task being allocated, and a written record of the process that developed to assign each team member a task for the project. Majority of the decisions that were made as a team were positive and constructive making the process of the assessment easier to complete. The team first started to develop as a team, therefore introductions of each team member took place. The next step the team discovered were to obtain specific tasks that were the individuals strengths, which every team member choose a section they believed they could excel on.
