During the story of Pride and Prejudice the main character, Elizabeth Bennet is involved in many different changing relationships, which affect the way her character is portrayed. The main focus of the book is how Elizabeth 's mother desperately wants her five daughters to fall into a wealthy marriage. The first relationship that Elizabeth really gets involved with is with the new neighbor Mr. Darcy. A man who makes a strong living, over 5,000 a year and who comes from a higher social class than the Bennets. Elizabeth first impression of Mr. Darcy became ruined after she met him, and they immediately experienced tons of tension between them as soon as they met. The second man that Elizabeth gets involved with is with a militia man named Wichman.…show more content…
Elizabeth gros and matures, and learns that first impressions can not be trusted. Elizabeth meets many men in her town, after meeting all of them she formulates opinions and judgments on all of them. As the story progresses Elizabeth learns that her first inclinations can not be trusted. Elizabeth first impression of Mr. Darcy could not have been worse, and they had tension between them as soon as they met. The second man that Elizabeth gets involved with is with a militia man named Wichman. Elizabeth’s first impression of Wickman is a little different than that of Darcy. She begins to grow fond of Wickman and even less fond of Darcy. Many factors contribute to this including the fact that Wickman slanders Darcy’s reputation a bit. Things begin to take a spin when Darcy professes his love for Elizabeth and proposes to her. She is taken off by this and denies him throwin Darcy into a rage. Darcy and Elizabeth begin to separate and become strangers as the story progresses. Elizabeth begins to spend more time with Wickman instead of Darcy. Elizabeth uncovers some holes in Wickham 's claims about Darcy, and eventually Darcy and Elizabeth cross paths once again. Elizabeth starts to realize how wrong she had been about her friend Darcy. It starts to show how much Lizzy matures and grows as a character, her and Darcy begin to fall and love and Lizzy’s view of Wickham and Darcy completely changed from the start of the story tell the end. At the end of the book Elizabeth became a less stubborn and judgemental
