Walt Disney Do you know who the only person to win 22 academy awards is? Walt Disney is. He once said “That all our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” And that’s exactly what he did. Even though he got fired from his job because he wasn’t creative enough, he proved all of them wrong and has made a huge impact. Because Walt Disney has made a huge impact on the world, people should know about his early life, his cartoons, and how he rose to the top.

The next five years Disney created more full length animated films, they were Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940), Dumbo (1941), and Bambi (1942).He then won eight Oscar Awards for all these great films. Debatably his greatest achievement, Disneyland theme park opened on July 17, 1955. On September 8, 1955 Disneyland welcomes its one millionth visitor. That same year, Walt introduces "The Mickey Mouse Club" program, the first program he ever designed strictly for children. After years of success in 1964 Mary Poppins is nominated for 13 Academy Awards. Two years later, Walt gives a press conference, and describes his plans for building EPCOT. All of these things would of been good reasons for him to stop, but of course Disney did not for he was obsessed with being the best. It would be very hard to not have heard about Disney because he has released so many different kinds of animations, but during the 1950’s Disney began to become less involved in the animation department, entrusting most of its operations to his main animators, the Nine Old Men, although he was always at story meetings. These ideas developed into a concept for a larger enterprise which was to become Disneyland. In 1903, parents Elias and Flora added a daughter, Ruth, to the family. Elias worried about big-city life, so the Disney family moved to a farm near Marceline, Missouri, in 1906 (Jaffe 7).
