How the Renaissance Changed Mans View of the World
The Renaissance was a time of cultural rebirth, and academic learning in Europe. A time when our understanding of the Universe, and ourselves changed and art became less religious, and more personal. The Renaissance was a great and creative time in human history that had a huge impact on everyone’s lives. According to the text it states that in 1300s important changes began to happen. Improved farming methods helped peasants become more self-sufficient. More and more serfs gained their freedom and no longer depended on lords. (Background Essay).
Before the Renaissance, art was all about religion, and lacked emotions and details. Renaissance Art had stronger emotions, well defined landscapes, and utilized 3D figures. The Renaissance is also when artists started making names for themselves, and began being recognized for their works. During the Renaissance time people learned how to make more complex things such as art and this in the future will change the way people will see art. This time period could be considered a high- class movement, but at the same time, shopkeepers and street-sweepers could afford books and articles discussing new ideas. The invention of the printing press in the 1400's boosted the movement and momentum of the Renaissance, increasing the amount of books available and causing illiteracy to decrease, and literacy to increase.
