In the earlier ages, when Rome still had a strong army and navy, they were able to defend their borders. Their army was so strong, they were able to conquer Greece and prosper for many years. After the armies were gone, knights arose in their place to protect the borders from intruders. Although knights were not directly influenced by Roman armies and navies, they were the next best thing for military and business purposes. Because of Roman help, knights were able to influence today’s military.

The knights’ way of transportation connects to how today we have tanks and other military transportation. Horses were the most commonly used animal for means of transportation. They were extremely important for battle grounds. Horses gave people an advantage of speed and height. “No other animal has been employed so widely and continuously and was at times so comprehensively protected as the horse,” says the Met Museum. Because the horse was so employed and so popular, they also needed protection to stay alive. Horses wore as much armor as the knights they carried. After the crusades, the popularity of the knights grew. “The Crusades further increased their value for the church and society in general” (infobase). This increase in value caused more people to try and become knights. The Met museum said that the most popular used weapons were “spear, sword, ax, and the bow and arrow.” These weapons and tactics of fighting then became the backbone of weapons today, such as guns. Spears and bows and arrows allowed knights to fight from a distance, such as hand grenades and guns are used in today’s
In the middle ages, knights were viewed as those who would represent the greatest level of chivalry, considering it was part of their code. King Arthur talked to a peasant in the beginning of the film who expressed her said unhappiness about the government and her views did not align with King Arthur so he disapproved. The peasant described medieval Europe as a horrid place to live. There was also a lack of education among the peasants because in the British empire at that time, there were many small kingdoms owned by lords, under one king. All the peasants really knew was their own kingdom and their king, they were not really educated on the number or where other kingdoms were. During this time period, the peasants were viewed as the bottom of the food chain, and in the feudal system they were actually at the bottom. This meant that they had no real say in the government or how it was ruled, so this interaction did not seem accurate for the time period nor did it cause any impact because those who were high in the feudal system liked the strong divide between classes. The way of life during the middle ages was strongly influenced by past traditions and morals that had been passed down from generation to generation. One of these old traditions included

In relation to war, the most preferred weapon was the javelin, which could be used for both close combat and long range. The javelin was a highly effective weapon and it ensured that those using it were not easy to defeat. Furthermore, the javelin was often used alongside a shield, which was essential for not only blocking attacks, but also kept the enemy at bay while the javelin was used to strike. 'The horse' was also used but because of having to use both a shield and

In the beginning of 11th century, Lieberman explains how every man that has displayed homage, has not been proclaimed as a knight. Additionally, the term “knight” wasn’t even an actual term that many European countries used to describe a chivalric man. For this reasoning, Lieberman wanted to answer the questions of what physical acts were involved and how these acts are what makes men defined as knights (Lieberman 398). Throughout many researches about the true meaning of knights, he argues that there’s no single noun that can be related to the notion of
