Today, diamonds are one of the precious jewels on Earth. We find them in mining caves, which are later extracted and sold for millions of dollars. But we wonder, where did the diamonds come from? This is the story of how an ordinary person can create jewels more valuable than gold with a power given by the gods, but at the same time, save their lives.
A long time ago, there was a village named Alevale. Alevale was home to more than 5000 citizens, and most of them are rich and live in grand mansions. One family though was poor, and they didn't live in a grand mansion. This family had 16 kids named Zinon, Zoe, Mathias, Alexander, Kalina, Ioanna, Iris, Marika, Gus, Takis, Sotiris, Kiki, Martha, Michail, Angelik and Tryphon, and all of them belonged to Adamatine, and they lived in a dirty house in the village. Everyone who walked past their house knew how poor Adamatine's family was. Adamatine tried her best to earn a living so she could buy food and drinks for her family. One day, Adamatine was bankrupt. She and the 16 kids were out of food, drinks, and money, and they know that soon, they would die. They began to ask for help, begging other villagers for money and food and drinks, but none of them decided to give them any of their belongings. Adamatine and her 16 kids found out that all of the people in the village were too greedy and selfish to share their food, drinks and money, and so they had only one thing left to save them.
Adamatine and her 16 kids marched to the Statue of Zeus and prayed to the Gods for food, drinks and money. But nothing happened. They prayed some more, but no god came. It was getting dark, and Adamatine thought that the gods are not going to come, and that all of this was pointless and that they were ...

Adamatine woke up to realize that her kids were still in the caves. She thought to herself how stupid she was to leave them all by themselves in the caves in the dark and decided to search for them. When she stepped outside though, she saw all her 16 kids, walking back home with sacks carried on their backs. Adamatine couldn't believe that her kids found the jewels, but when they showed her the sacks, it was filled with jewels. Adamatine jumped with joy, relieved that she and her 16 kids could live rich and happily ever after. When news broke out that Adamatine and her 16 kids found jewels, the king was delighted to see such bright sparkly jewels and decided to name the jewels after Adamatine "diamonds", and that is how diamonds were created.
