1. Quantitative
a. This is one of the two main ways that data is collected when doing research. Quantitative data has a focus on obtaining a specific goal and has objectivity. These goals are obtained through numerical measurements and contain control groups and variables in the experiments to help provide answers that show relationships. (McMillan, 2012, p. 11)
b. Statistics are used and seen all the time in research to provide answers to the problem at hand. As we wrap up the end of the school year at the school I teach at, we have discussed different percentages to help clarify or successful school year such as attrition rates, enrollment percent changes from the beginning of the year to the end of the year and then what we are expected to start at in August. This is all done through quantitative research.
2. Qualitative
a. Data that focuses more on understanding rather than a single, numerical answer and it is

If I were doing a study on the advantages and disadvantages of having physical education in the elementary school system and requiring it, a good question for me to search would be, “Are there any sources that mention physical education having a direct impact on academic performance?”
10. Foreshadowed Problems
a. Foreshadowed problems are mentioned in the section of the literature review, specifically a qualitative literature review, and they are statements made that express the “general purpose of the study” (McMillan, 2012, p. 84).
b. In the study I performed on social media and its impacts on college aged students, are foreshadowed problems seen in the literature review revolved around positive and negative effects of social media, social media effects on relationships, social media effects on communication, and ways social media can be utilized in the college setting.
11. Simple Random Sampling
a. Simple random sampling is when everyone in a given population of an experience has the same chance of being selected. (McMillan, 2012, p.

I am investigating the impact of math in the various parts of baseball. I have collected data from the various aspects of baseball such as hitting statistics and pitching statistics that are from the MLB. With this collection of data that I have, I used a number of mathematical processes to analyze this data and get to the final statistic. Such as the pitcher's statistics of how many runs they allowed in a certain amount of innings and applying the mathematical formulas to figure out the end statistic which is their ERA and that tells us overall how good that pitcher is performing. Some of this data is shown in graphs throughout the paper and another big formula used in baseball is the projectile motion formula used to calculate how far home runs travel. In the end these calculations will prove how math is so important to baseball and how these formulas contribute to that by figuring out the end statistics of various parts of important baseball data such as hitting and

Answer: The fact that an investigation of local restaurants was conducted in which 150 were selected randomly indicates that this is a sample. This sample indicates that out of the 150 randomly selected, 42% of this random selection out of the total population of restaurants possessed series health code violations.
On the other hand, Quantitative research refers to “variance theory” where quantity describes the research in terms of statistical relationships between different variables (Maxwell, 2013). Quantitative research answers the questions “how much” or “how many?” Quantitative research is an objective, deductive process and is used to quantify attitudes, opinions, behaviors, and other defined variables with generalized results from a larger sample population. Much more structured than qualitative research, quantitative data collection methods include various forms of surveys, personal interviews and telephone interviews, polls, and systematic observations. Methods can be considered “cookie cutter” with a predetermined starting point and a fixed sequence of
This study examines social media among college students and how it affects self-concept and communication with peers. It explains the importance of the effects social media has on personal communication and self-esteem. It emphasizes that social media offer straightforward ways to communicate with peers and get immediate peer feedback, which might influence young adult’s self-esteem. This article connects the idea self to the overarching theme of relationships.
Physical education must be mandatory for students all over the world. It provides many conveniences for children later in life. Sports in school encourage kids to play more outside of school and from there, their health increases. Unquestionably, physical education improves kids’
I will collect quantitative data through a survey administered to all teachers at Bethel Middle School. In quantitative data analysis, a researcher analyzed the data collected using statistics in order to break down the data into smaller segments that aim to answer the research questions. Researchers also interpret the data in light of what past research noted and past predictions or assumptions they, and others, have made (Creswell, 2015).
This research paper is going to be about how social media impacts an individual. Then it is going to be about how much of an impact it has on businesses. Afterwards, we are going to go over the pros and the cons of social media in society. Then this research paper is going to conclude on where social media is heading towards in the near future and so on. Social media can impact the life of an individual at many levels.
Social Media has become a very essential tool in the society; in addition, it has a huge impact on communication and learning process. Social media is defined as websites and applications used for social networking. “As of September 2013, seventy-one percent of online adult use Facebook, eighteen percent use Twitter and seventeen percent use Instagram, twenty-two percent use PInterest, and another twenty-two percent use LinkedIn. (PewReasearch, 2013). In addition, "Between February 2005 and August 2006, the use of social networking sites among young adult internet user ages eighteen and twenty-nine jumped from nine percent to forty-nine percent. The usage of social media had grown drastically.” On social media sites like these, users may develop biographical profiles, communicate with friends and strangers, do research, and share thoughts, photos, music, links, and more” (Socialnetworking.procon,2012). Social media has impacted everyone in several different ways. In this present time, majority of college student use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Social media has a bold impact college student's grades, social interactions, and the teaching and learning process.
However, this can prove to be a huge problem for many persons especially students because the use of social media could have a negative effect on students’ academic performance. Some of the ways that social media can have a negative effect on academic performance are that social media can cause procrastination meaning students will spend time on Social media instead of getting their work done in a timely fashion. Also, social media can make students depressed which will surely have a negative on their academic performance. Furthermore, social media gives a wider form of plagiarism that will definitely have a negative effect on students’ academic
Physical education can help children in the classroom as well. Physical educators can incorporate math or science into their lessons. In the age that we live in, social media has intergraded with college student’s daily lives and how much time is spent on social media. Social media is neither inherently bad nor good it all depends on how it is being used. “Social media are increasingly mobile, smartphones and tablets give users instant and around the clock access to social media and other web functions.” (Martinez-Aleman) When college students access sites on social media like Twitter or Facebook and get side tracked then social media is bad because it effects their education. However, when it is being used to communicate with their peers or professors then social media is a tool of good. Some researchers believe that the social media helps college
