In this article, one is able to ask how can I know God and how can I fully understand who God is? Christianity is more than just a philosophy or “crutch” in life. I became a Christian back in 2008 and I’ve been through a lot since then. I can say that without God and my faith I would not have made it through those tough years. Being Christian is more than dependency and using God as a “crutch” in life, it’s making the choice to live morally for God and worshipping him and accepting that you cannot do everything on your own. The Christian faith focuses on the orientation of the human heart behind human thoughts and actions. Living by faith is a beautiful alternative to the way people think of themselves and the way they live in relation to others in their daily lives (Merrick, 2014). Christians see themselves in terms of God’s profound love for them but not in terms of what they do. The teachings of the Christian faith; nonviolence, non-retaliation, inward integrity, selflessness, and love your neighbor as yourself provide the framework for ethical thinking. Although, adopting belief in Christianity can bring forth confusion in the heart and mind causing agony of learning to sacrifice one’s rightful claims for personal justice for the restoration of another (Merrick, 2014). Unconditional forgiveness is difficult to understand because spiritual forgiveness and actual costly forgiveness is viewed as the same in the gospel. If you do not forgive, then one does not have faith in God’s forgiveness as it really is. Christianity influences a person thinking and behavior developing wisdom which requires faith. The faith that is needed to reorient the heart away from selfishness to selflessness.
If Christ is the trajectory of our lives, then when we fail him, he will forgive us (Keller 179). He states that everybody lives for something. Nevertheless, nothing can fill up our souls like Jesus can, Keller says. A life not focused on God only leaves us feeling empty and we become like the things we use to replace God (ref. There are several aspects to consider when exploring the Christian worldview. There are many facets or denominations and they each have their own distinct beliefs and practices, but they all share the same fundamental beliefs. In this Paper we will explore the character of God, His creation, humanity and its nature, Jesus’ significance to the world, and the restoration of humanity, as well as my beliefs and the way that I interact with Christianity and my personal worldview.

We go through life drifting from one superficial disagreement to another without truly ever taking the time to ponder about the meaning of life. Is God a Christian written by Kirby Godsey is a very powerful book that forces its readers to take an introspective journey into not only one self’s religious beliefs, but also the fundamentals of one 's morals, judgment, and principals. Godsey begins his book by answering the title of his book. He believes that God is not tied to any single religion, like Christianity. That rather, the presence, feelings, and support of God should be perceived through a combination of beliefs, experiences, and perhaps even religions in order to understand the entirety of God.
The concept of God can be a difficult one to grasp especially in today's world - a world in which anyone that believes in God is trying to define exactly what God is. To even attempt to grasp such a concept, one must first recognize his own beliefs in respect to the following questions: Is God our creator? Is God omnipotent (all-powerful) or omniscient (all-knowing) or both? Does God care? Is God with us? Does God interfere with life on earth? As human reason cannot ask “How?” when concerning Christ, as human reason does not have the capability in understanding anything that is beyond his own being, man is “strained to the limit by the question ‘Who?’” (49). "Who Is God To Me" God means many different things to many different people. There are a lot of people who believe that there is no such thing as a God. There are people who believe that there is no God because no one has ever seen him. I personally believe that there is a God because of my faith. I have faith in God and I feel that God is real. I have many reasons why I believe in God and who God is to me. But I have three reasons that stand out for me about who God is to me. They are the following: God is always there for me, God is my friend, and God is my creator. These are my three most important reasons of who God is and what God means to me. God has never let me down in my life. Sometimes I feel that God has let me down or that He did not answer my prayers in times that I most needed Him. But I have to realize that everything that God does is for a reason. God has taken a few friends of mine from this Earth at a very young age. I have prayed to God and asked Him why? But I have never seemed to fully understand why. I have come to the conclusion that God works in mysterious ways. I do not think that anyone can fully understand why God does what He does. So for this, I do not feel that God has ever let me down. He just does these things for a reason and if you believe in Him, He will never let you down either. God is the longest lasting friend I have ever had in my life. He was there for me before I was born and He will be there for me after I leave this Earth. God is the best listener also. I can talk to God anywhere at anytime. Every time I want to talk to Him or ask Him a question, He is there for me. Most of my other friends are at least a phone call away, but not God. He has always been there in time of need, even though sometimes I feel like He is not. Even when I do something wrong, He is there to forgive me and set me straight.

Because of the struggles and trials that all people will face, it is important for believers to understand that in order to find a deep-rooted sense of strength, they must grow in their faith when times are easy, draw near to God when times are hard, and rely on God for restoration after a season of pain has ended.
There are many different characteristics that could be used to describe God. I think one of the important characteristics of God is the Trinity. God is three persons in one, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Grudem states that there are three statements that summarize the Trinity, “God is three persons, each person is fully God, and there is one God” (231). The smaller understanding of God means the less that we know about Him. I think that this is a true statement because we tend to only know a little bit about God, yet there is so much more to him then what we actually know. You may have grown up in a Christian home your whole life and know all the “church knowledge” about God, but the likelihood that we know everything is not likely true.
