Global warming is the increased warming effect of the atmospheric temperature resulting in a change of the Earth’s climate (USGS.gov, 2008). The increase warming of the temperature is the result from two greenhousegases such as carbon dioxide and methane that are being filtered and trapped into the Earth’s atmosphere. The layers of Earth’s atmosphere is to protect life from high-energy radiation and the frigid vacuum of space (nasa.gov, 2010), but if the atmosphere’s layers becomes thinner, its vital role of protection will diminish. Landfill wastes, industries and deforestation are why global warming exists, in turn will affect all life on Earth. Due to our poor treatment of the environment and the constant increase of global temperatures, there will probably be many changes and negative consequences that the human race will have to adapt to in order to survive. So, what are some of the consequences for this global climate change? According to the PDF file “Impact and Remediation”, some predicted consequences include: sea levels rising due to ice and glaciers melting (which could result in a loss of coastal communities and islands), ecosystems being severely damaged or destroyed (causing whole species to be threatened or wiped out), human food supplies being decreased, and human health being threatened due to changes in diseases or affected areas. Most of the glaciers in danger of melting are vital water sources for some populations. The threat of much higher sea levels is also an extreme concern from the disappearing glaciers.
Abstract There needs to be a reduction if not extinction with the increasing amounts of carbon dioxide, methane, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), per-fluorocarbons (PFCs) and nitrous oxide into the atmosphere because it is directly affecting global warming. The combustion of fossil fuels and greenhouse emissions mainly contribute to the increase of these gases. The longer we go without solving this global problem the more conflicts we will have in the future. Although global warming does make the earth warmer there is more to worry about than heating to death. Major concerns revolve around effects on agriculture, water resources, ocean level and coastal regions, and disease.
The question that is in the minds of many people around the globe is the debate between natural causes, and human activities being the main cause to the negative changes in the global climate. Natural causes like volcanic eruptions, the changes in the sun’s radiation, and the ocean current shifts noticed are contributing to the global climate change. In addition, the human activities such as the burning fossil fuels, and the cutting down of trees [forests] so as to create land to cultivate and rare cattle affect the climate change. The human activities that are done affect the global climate that the natural causes which has led to global warming in the atmosphere (Oxlade, 2003). The human activities that are undertaken such as burning of fossils release some greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, Methane, and nitrous oxide into the atmosphere.
These effects will occur globally and affect everyone. Global warming is occurring, as evidence has shown, with modern civilization a cause: And though its danger exists and its full reversal is improbable, humanity may inhibit it - as mankind’s responsibility. Because global warming poses a threat, global warming’s definition and its associated facts serves as very useful information. Merriam-Webster dictionary defines global warming as “the recent increase in the world’s temperature that is believed to be caused by the increase of certain gases (such as carbon dioxide) in the atmosphere.” Average global temperatures have risen to unusually high levels (Nuccitelli). In the last fifty years, the average temperature of the Earth’s surface has risen faster than ever recorded (Nuccitelli).
We live at a period in time were natural disasters have become a current event in our world. The Earth’s climate is changing, the culprit, global warming. This is what popular media has guided us to believe. What causes global warming, “we do, with the emissions of carbon dioxide we produced”, claimed by the noble prize winning movie, The 11th Hour. Although in reality the Earth’s climate has gone through spikes in climate changes for centuries.

With so many having to use this technology, such as oil, gasoline, coal, whether to power a vehicle, machine, or some other type of object that uses these harmful fuels, it has taken a toll on our planet. People on this planet need to realize the dangers global warming has on the world including the melting of glaciers and the changes in climate, all from harmful emissions given off by humans and their advances in technology.Global warming is the result of human activity, and action must be taken in order to prevent a series of catastrophic events that would forever change life as we know it. The usage of these fuels from technology omits harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, along with others. These gases stay in our atmosphere, trapped by the ozone layer and speed up the process of global warming. Many of these toxic gases come from corporations around the world that own industries and factories that pollute our air.
