If you are serious about selling your website then you will need to spruce up your financial statements, budgets, and business plans. Running your website as if you were preparing to sell it will improve your management practices and increase the value of your website. If you receive an offer that you can't refuse, being prepared will put you in a great position to close a deal quickly.
In researching my book, “How to Sell Your Website for Top Dollar”, I interviewed over 200 entrepreneurs who had sold their websites. Some issues came up repeatedly that have little to do with the mechanics of getting your website ready to sell but that instead require you to do some soul-searching. What do you want for yourself--in the future? How much of your self-esteem is tied up with owning and running your website? What will you do next? Thinking through the implications of a sale for you and your family will go a long way toward helping you select the sort of buyer you'd be most comfortable with.
There are two basic types of buyers, financial and strategic. Financial buyers make up an enormous segment of the market. They look for websites they can buy using debt financing for 50% to 75% of the price, and that have sufficient cash flow to service that debt. With few exceptions they value a website by using a multiple of four to six times earnings before interest and taxes (after making adjustments for expenses that would change for a new owner). There are disadvantages to selling to a financial buyer: there are no synergies--such as partnerships with complementary websites. There will certainly be pressures to increase the cash flow because of the added debt. Financial buyers are in business to make deals, so they may overlook some weaknesses. They often leave day-to-day website operations unchanged, but they buy with a view to selling, and they don’t give a damn about your vision for the future of the website.
Strategic buyers expect synergies with their other websites. Because of these synergies, they can afford to pay a premium, but they may not need to because they already have an intimate knowledge of the market. They may know your websites strengths and weaknesses better than you do. Therefore, strategic buyers offering premium prices are in short supply.
Due to the various options of distribution channels their prices vary. Consumers take that into consideration when purchasing their products.
Jane Austen was a stellar English author. Though she only wrote six novels, her unique and effective style of writing was evident to all who read her works. The elements used by Austen are still relevant in today’s day and age. Austen’s stories are full of allusions to geography, history, literature, philosophy, and mythology. Her novels are full of themes pertaining to love, marriage, and society fitting in to the genre of romantic fiction. All of her stories take place in nineteenth century England. Austen maintains a tone of irony and sympathy throughout her literary works making them seem, to an extent, almost comical. She effectively uses symbols and motifs to build underlying meaning into her stories much greater than that of the upfront
`Why didn't the ADHD boy introduce his girlfriend to any of his friends? A) He can't remember her name; or better yet, How would they diagnose ADD in a chicken? A) It never gets all the way across the road because of all the distractions. You could say growing up was hard; everyday I had to endure cruel teeny bopping teenagers who didn’t understand my condition. What really made it hard was that I didn’t even understand my condition. Seven years ago I was diagnosed with ADHD or Attention Deficit/ Hyper- activity Disorder. In other words, my brain was like a light constantly going off and on at the worst possible times. As a form of treatment for ADHD, I was put on a controversial drug called Ritalin. At the age of sixteen, it was not really my choice whether I wanted to take a doctor’s prescription or not. Now that I have grown up a bit and understand things better, I am questioning the benefits of prescribing Ritalin to treat ADHD.
Ritalin is a drug typically prescribed to children who are experiencing or showing symptoms of ADHD. ADHD is more commonly known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Symptoms of this disease are commonly lack of ability to concentrate and control, because of these symptoms a stimulant medication like Ritalin is prescribed; approximately one to two children out of every 100 is prescribed stimulant medicine (Centre, 2010.) Ritalin works to help focus the child to specific tasks instead of being unable to learn and listen. Most commonly children take this medicine whilst in school so they can pay attention and not be disruptive throughout the day. “Ritalin is manufactured by Novartis which comes in the form of 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg
For years, the topic of Ritalin, the use of the drug and its short and long term effects has been a controversial one. People who have Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) have abnormally low amounts of the neurotransmitting chemical Dopamine in their brains. This chemical plays an important role in the brain as it helps with signal transmission between the neurons. ADHD sufferers have difficulty concentrating and learning, they find it difficult to sit still and are often overly energetic. They get distracted very easily and struggle to focus and complete a task at hand. Ritalin helps reduce these symptoms as it stimulates the production of more dopamine in the brain. This gives for better signal transmission which in turn benefits the ADHD user.
Rivalry among established firms is fierce. There are several factors that illustrate this: established market players (6.1). The product is highly standardized and the switching costs of the customers are low. Players are aggressive (6.2)
A considerable search in literature was done on human papilloma virus (HPV) related diseases, HPV vaccine and to assess how health care providers can increase understanding and improve vaccination rates among adolescent and adults in primary care. The review was done using the following databases: Ebscohost Web, Medline, and the Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL). The search phrases used were HPV vaccine, education, HPV immunization, adolescents, adult, primary care, health promotion/prevention, risk factors, compliance, and barriers. The inclusion criteria was composed of journals that were written in English, peer reviewed, full-text, associated with improving HPV vaccine rates, and published between 2010-
“Human papillomaviruses are small, double-strained DNA viruses that infect the epithelium and cause common skin warts.” (CDC, 2012). Most HPV infections are asymptomatic and resolve on their own. About forty strains of HPV infect the mucosal epithelium, which can lead to cervical cancer. Cervical cancer was first thought to be linked to sexual activity in the 1960s, and in the early 1980s, in was proven that cervical cancer cells contained HPV DNA. The first publications of this were not until the 1990s. (CDC 2012). Because the detection of HPV was so recent, there are still many unknown factors regarding transmission and treatment.
For instance, children can experience growth delay, decreased appetite, sleep problems, etc. According to researchers at the University of Delaware and Drexel University College of Medicine, Ritalin can boost mental performance, but long-term use can impact the brain’s plasticity. This can interfere with people’s ability to plan ahead, switch between tasks, and be overall flexible with their behaviors (Sifferlin). Therefore, many parents don’t like the idea of medicating their children and use an alternative route to treat
There have been numerous studies that link text messaging with anxiety and social disorders. While texting might be in effect a more convenient form of communication, it has been shown to have an adverse effect on the construction of social relationships. For example, data collected by a group of communication researchers showed that rather than creating more emotional ties using texting and instant messaging, adolescents are using texting to create distinct worlds of social media (Lou). Furthermore, teenagers are even more dependent on their mobile phones, expecting that their close relationship and friendships will be sustained through frequent text messaging (Lou). This behavior is unhealthy because it staunches growing social communication growth in adolescents.
On December 16th 1775, English literature changed with the birth of Jane Austen. One of eight; her father encouraged her to grow and prosper at a young age. She was closest with her only sister Cassandra. The Austen children were educated mainly at home, primarily through Jane’s father who used resources at Oxford University. The learning style may have been different from traditional education, but all members of the Austen family were involved, primarily through reading aloud. “There was also a great deal of reading aloud in the Austen household. Many families at the time would have one of their members read to the others while they carried out small tasks. Reading aloud was considered a highly valuable professional and social skill.”(Kelly) Austen was encouraged to read and she began writing at an early age. “The juvenilia, written in her early and mid teens are already incisive and elegantly expressed; Love and Friendship was written when she was fourteen, “A History of England” at fifteen; at 16 a Collection of Letters; and sometime during these same years, Lesley Castle. (Oxford 51) Jane’s early start contributed to her later works, enabling her to write powerful and detailed stories. Her access to the books at Oxford allowed her to enjoy reading and her fathers support and education enabled her to read and write.
Jane Austen was an exceptional English author of romantic fiction novels. However, it was not until after Jane’s lifetime that she was well acknowledged as a writer. Jane grew up with a large family whom she was very close to. She was inspired by her family greatly, and because of this wrote about situations relatable to everyday life. She was also a very innovative author; she helped to shape new ways of writing in her works. Through examining Jane’s relationships, dynamics of her writing, and novels themselves, we will be able to have a much broader understanding of Jane.
ile text messaging is a more efficient way to get in touch with people than face-to-face or phone conversations, it ultimately leads to a lower degree of personal communication. This method of communication leads to a significantly greater degree of misinterpretation than oral conversations because of the unavailability of such nonverbal cues, such as facial expressions and other body language, as well as tone of voice. The use of text messaging as a primary mode of communication will ultimately degrade the depth of interpersonal relationships. It will reduce people 's overall ability to feel and express empathy, it will reduce people’s stamina at holding long conversations, as well as the amount of attention that people can pay during conversations.
