Another minority group that Smith greatly focuses on is that of Jewish heritage. She is able to capture anti-Semitism in a corner that is not often explored, being racism directed from African Americans. This kind of racism is seen in the interview titled “No Blood on his Feet”. The speaker explained what happened at the incident of Gavin Cato’s death, and stated that when the driver realized he had hit a child, he tried to physically lift the car from the child but as he was doing so, the members of the African American community were viciously beating him (80). American society tends to hold these two occupations to a higher standard and expects the highest quality out of their work because they are the supposed to be the protectors of the nation. When these citizens are caught doing morally questionable acts, a lot of negative attention is gained and it seems like everyone has an opinion on the subject. Many incidents of police brutality is seen throughout Twilight: Los Angeles while several affairs from presidents are discussed in House Arrest. In the interview titled “Way too Academic” featured in the play House Arrest, the speaker stated that in the White House “you don’t talk about depression. It’s a town where you only talk about strength and manipulation…If you said you are in therapy with your wife over your child’s drug addiction, you wouldn’t be able to run for president” (88). Police officers experience a similar position. Neither of these occupations allow for human emotion and that is possibly why they are always found guilty doing such extreme actions behind closed doors. They don’t deserve to be held on such a higher scale because no matter how much training or education they have, they are still people and without the allowance to express emotions and weaknesses, outbursts will always
