As in today’s era every sector is booming with a great pace let it be industry, education and etc one of them is hotel industry which is one of growing sectors for India in today’s time. It is a employment generator and one of the foreign exchange for the country, apart being an economic activity that helps local and foreign exchange for the country. It is one of sector which has a great input in the GDP (gross domestic product) of the country, it has been contributed Rs. 2.17 trillion or you can also say that about 2% of the GDP.
In the following study”exploring the determinants of e-commerce usage in the hotel industry in Thailand: an empirical study” done by Pongsak Hoontrakul and Sunil Sahadev in the following study they have conducted a study with 95 hotels in several places in Thailand and according to them e commerce usage is now a days very famous as according to them hotels that are established in a less developed places use internet more than the hotel that are established in well developed area as the hotels in well developed area have a well collected network and availability of travel wholesalers and travel agents and they can afford to ignore the use of internet to a certain point but the scenario is different in under developed places as they don’t have much choices and the market is also not so big that they can have agents or any other choice.
The new establishment is more prone to use internet more than the old establishment and it is also seen that using ICT resources also have brought positive value to the hotels and it is also found that hotels which use ICT have a high level reliance on e-commerce.
