Johnny is a young student in first grade. He loves to read and he also loves to talk. His teacher Mrs. Smith has a problem with this. Johnny is always the first to finish his work, and yet he always seems to cause problems in the classroom. Johnny's parents are very irritated by Johnny's grades of all A's in the academic curriculum and yet getting "Unsatisfactory" in behavior. They have decided to take Johnny out of public school to teach him at home.
Attending school is not the only way to become a scholar. It has been shown that home-educated individuals are just as successful, if not more than those who receive a public education. I understand the relationship between the two as a difference in my educational background and that of my younger brother. I enjoy being a student and learning! Growing up, I was often sad when I got sick because I would miss school, not my friends or an important test, but the fact I missed the opportunity to learn something new. As a student in the Louisiana public school system, I received an above average education compared to the classroom norm. I was a true learner. I wanted to gain knowledge and understanding of everything by study, instruction, and experience. I am not the only member of my family that feels this way. It seems that my parents raised me to yearn for knowledge, even though my father had only a high school degree and my mother a GED. Despite my wonderful experience in public school systems and the increase in educational government funding, children may be educated just as well, if not better through the parents in a home school program through intense personalized programs. Home School
The Story:
Home school has its proponents, and its critics. I attended a regular elementary, middle, and high school. Public schools are a wonderful social and educational environment for children, or at least they were when I was in elementary school. As I progressed through the grades, the focus remained on the social aspects, not learning. I find however that my experience in upper level classes is not standard. I was challenged by my teachers to learn everything about everything. I was in a gifted/talented program in Louisiana, which is recognized as one of the best in the nation. On the other hand, my little brother Logan attended school in Texas, where the focus is to earn the best scores on TAAS, the standardized tests.
Homeschooling is becoming more popular in today’s society then before. Homeschooling is teaching school subjects to one’s children at home (Merriam-Webster Dictionary). But is homeschooling the best way to educate children? Homeschooling can bring more positive outcomes versus public or private schooling. This is because homeschooling can bring many benefits such as family orientation, no worries about bullies, less exposure to bad influences like drugs. Also it has a good success rate, adaptable cost, and flexibility. Homeschooling will keep increasing year by year. According to Dr. Brian D. Ray about 2% to 8% per annum was the growth over the past few years. For these and many more reasons is why parents choose to home school their children.

The Role of Act 3 Scene 1 and Act 3 Scene 5 in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

Since the inception of an Israeli nation-state in 1948, violence and conflict has played a major role in Israel’s brief history. In the Sixty-One year’s Israel has been a recognized nation-state, they have fought in 6 interstate wars, 2 civil wars, and over 144 dyadic militarized interstate disputes (MIDs) with some display of military force against other states (Maoz 5). Israel has been involved in constant conflict throughout the past half century. Israel’s tension against other states within the Middle East has spurred vast economic, social, and political unity that has fostered a sense of nationalism and unity in Israel not seen in most other states. Over the next several pages I will try and dissect the reasons for why the nation state of Israel has been emerged in constant conflict and how this conflict has helped foster national unity and identity among the people of Israel.
At the start of the play, in Act 1 Scene 1, there is a theme of
Homeschooling is often portrayed as an overprotective mom - unwilling to let her kids leave her for a day at school, and a large number of children, all unable to hold a conversation, let alone function normally in society. As someone who was homeschooled from kindergarten through eighth grade, I can attest that my homeschool experience was the exact opposite of this confining stereotype.
own side for signing a deal which he had decided in 1974 not to sign
I grew up in a household where education was seen as a form of self-improvement and empowerment. Being raised in rural Central California by two Filipino immigrants who had nothing more than a high school education, my family did not have an educated or intellectual history I could look up to. That is, until my mother decided to get a college education at the age of 45. I must have been in middle school at the time, before which the word “college” was never really spoken or talked about and I could honestly say I only had a vague idea of what it even was. Rather than having the traditional sit down talk with my parents about higher education, my mom clearly spoke to me through example. I distinctly remember times where I would be her study buddy, and while doing so, I found myself leisurely enjoying the pages of her science textbooks. Instead of asking her questions related to her upcoming text, I inquisitively asked juvenile questions like, “How do the genes make us?” Today I know that this is a very big and complex question that we are still trying to answer. Yet at that moment, I wanted an answer, but mother did not have the solution, nor did the textbook. That was the birth of my pursuit of scientific career.
An estimated 4 million children are currently home schooled with a 15-20% yearly growth rate. According to a California study by researcher Dr. Brian [D.] Ray, 92 percent of school superintendents believe that home learners are emotionally unstable, deprived of proper social development and too judgmental of the world around them. The latest claim against home schooling suggests that home schoolers are potential child abusers. Mr. Ron Barnard, a Holly High School teacher says that he would prefer public schooling for his children because of the peer socialization, extra curricular, and mandated curriculum. Public schooling is more efficient in educating our youth than traditional home schooling.
Growing up around kids who have only been home schooled and hasn’t ever been to a public school before, I have noticed glaring problems. When socializing with others, they struggle, and need their parents to ask questions for them. They don’t have a set of standards, and get taught what their parents want to teach. They don’t have extracurricular activities that mold them for the future. When it comes to structure there isn’t any, they do what they want when they want. Their parents aren’t teachers, and just teach them what they want to teach them. Finally they don’t get certain benefits offered by all public schools. All these reasons and many more, is why I think Public schooling can be a better educational system than homeschooling.
Studies have shown year after year that homeschooled students consistently perform just as well as (or in many cases better than) traditionally schooled students on standardized academic exams. But very rarely does anyone ask why this is, or what caused the student to do so well, because they are usually too concerned with questions about the student’s social life or if they would be able to handle the transition into college. Therefore, my thesis statement is: Homeschooled students often achieve higher academic success and are more active in their communities than traditionally schooled students, due to a personalized approach to learning that emphasizes individuality. My research paper will debunk some popular myths about homeschooling, and give the real reasons why homeschoolers are so successful.
The homeschooling is a controversial topic as many have very different ideas on what they want for their children. The idea to opt for homeschooling originated in the 70s in parts of Europe but at passage of time it has spread throughout the world, now more than half million American boys and girls and about ten thousand. British do not attend public school or private school because their parents have come to the conclusion that at home can get a good education. At least as good as they could receive if they go to school (Sandra M. Alters ) education. As a parent your responsibility is to provide the best education for your child as it is essential for their future and whole life consider home schooling is an option to give your child a personalized education according to their abilities , this option can be take since your son is about to get its first education level or can be the opposite when is already in an advanced level .
One might ask why some parents decide to home school their children rather than send them to public school to receive a traditional public education. In his article, “What Have We Learned About Homeschooling,” Eric Isenberg offers data which says, “Families choose to homeschool their children for both academic and religious reasons” (407). Even so, most people claim that public school offers the perfect environment for learning and developing. They argue
There is also room for a better quality of learning in a home schooling setting. Parents or tutors in a home school setting do not have to waste time with administrative tasks or repeating directions. They can get down to learning and reviewing. If a child is ok with a subject, they can move on. A child who is home schooled also has the opportunity to take part in a greater number of alternative learning experiences. For example, if a parent feels that a trip to a museum will better get a point across, on the spur of the moment they can take their child. Such spontaneity would not be possible in a regular school classroom. A certain structure is expected in a public school. In home schooling, parents or tutors are free to teach using methods they deem appropriate to the situation and the student.
