Throughout history, river valleys such as the Yangtze and Huang He valleys and their natural barriers known as the Gobi and Taklamakan Desert have played an important role in the development of Chinese culture and history. Two major rivers that impacted China was the Yangtze and Yellow River. The longest man-made waterway is the Grand Canal. The Grand Canal linked the rivers Huang He and Yangtze together (Penn 313). The Yangtze is the largest river in China, and the fourth largest in the world (Hook and Twitchett).

HOLI (revised) Being one of the most spirited festivals in India, the celebrations of Holi takes place with a lot of joy and verve throughout the country. Rightly known as the 'festival of colours', the whole scenario on the day of Holi is mind-blowing. The festivity takes place for many days all over the country and people are seen tossing ‘gulaal’ (coloured powder) on each other and rejoicing as they go around meeting people in their unrecognizable conditions. Colours magically connect with the emotions and moods of all human beings, and effectually make us jovial and happy. As the red mixes with the green, blue with pink, orange with purple and a hundred other colours blend with each other, it simultaneously teaches us the power of unity and oneness.
I had the pleasure of attending this years Spring Dance Concert. As a dancer I love being presented different types of dance, I feel as though it broadens your views as an artist. What I appreciated the most was the boundaries pushed by the dancers and choreographers at this years spring recital. The first piece “A taste of Majorette” was very upbeat piece that began with the dancers in the aisle alongside the audience. The piece was very upbeat and the dancers were wearing royal blue leotards, it was visually stimulating, the spins and kicks reminded me of the “New York City Rockettes”.
It was extremely exotic and such fun vibe that Student Government agreed would be enjoyed by the students that attended the dance. After the club figured the theme, they needed to contact a DJ for the dance. It is crucial to have an excellent DJ to liven up the party and keep kids wanted to attend the rest of the dances. The more students that want to go to homecoming raises more money to get amenities the school need like new water fountains or a stadium. In Hillsborough County, many schools call the best DJ around to play at the event, DJ Ron.
