The Wright Innovation The Wright brothers are said to be America’s greatest innovators of all times. I believe this to be true. The Wright brothers consisted of Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright. They were two brothers from Ohio with a passion for aviation. This passion led the brothers to contribute to the fastest mode of transportation to date. Surprisingly enough both brothers did not graduate high school. Both brothers started their own printing business in 1889. Around this timeframes bicycles were becoming very popular. To capitalize on the market needs, both brothers opened up a bicycle sales and repair shop. Both brothers had a very strong interest in flight. They depending on their bicycle shop to fund their experiments with flight. After years of experiments the brothers were credited with inventing an engine powered aircraft with controls that made controlled flight possible. There are also usually said to have the first flight. This is not true, there were other experiments being conducted by other inventors, but the brothers were noticed because of the length of their flights. Wilbur and Orville were not the first individuals to experiment with building and flying aircrafts, but they were the first to build an airplane that had directional control. Their timing of entry was perfect. The public had not seen anything like it before. The brothers did a great job with keeping their invention out of the public eye until the time was right. This allowed them to keep their technology safe and secure. Another thing that brothers did was to create a patent for the aircraft when they released it to the public. The patent addressed the elements that the brothers used for direction control of the aircraft. The parts included a rudder, forward elevator, and wing warping.
