Sweden is a Scandinavian country, located in the Northern Europe. The neighbor countries are Norway and Finland. The capital city of Sweden is Stockholm. Sweden is the third largest country in the European Union with total 450,295 square kilometers (173,860 sq mi). Its total population is about 9.6 million approximately and it has a low population density with about 21 inhabitants per square kilometer (54/sq mi). The population is mostly concentrated in Southern area of the country with about 85% of the total population live in urban locations.
As for the ethnic background, Sweden has numbers of indigenous population which consists of Swedes with Finnish and Sami minorities, foreign-born or first-generation immigrants, Finns, Yugoslavs, Danes, Norwegians, Greeks, and Turks (CIA, 2014). Based on the figure, Swedish contributes to the major population in the country which almost 89.3%, followed by Finn and Sami 3%, Yugoslav 0.8%, Iranian 0.6% and other ethnics 6.3%. The main language used is Swedish. Sweden is pretty much a free country with different religions being practiced. The largest religion is Evangelical Lutheran 87% followed by other religions such as Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Baptist, Muslim, Jewish and Buddhist which amount to 13%.
Sweden is a developed country and seventh richest country in the world based on the GDP per capita which was $40,900 in 2013. The standard of living is very high where the household consumption amount to 48.6% of total GDP. Sweden mainly focuses on the service industry which contributes to the major percentage of GDP which was about 66.8% in 2013, compared to agriculture 2% and other industries 31.3%.
