There are a lot of different branches to physics, one of those branches is electromagnetism. Electromagnetism is the interaction between electric currents and magnetic fields or simply just the connection of electricity and magnetism. Electromagnetism was discovered in 1820 by a scientist named Hans Christian Oersted. Oersted was holding a compass near a magnet and he realized that the needle in the compass was not pointing north then later did more research and he discovered electromagnetism. One of the most helpful pieces of research on electromagnetism was done by James Clerk Maxwell, Maxwell had published the Maxwell Equations which were equations on how to solve electromagnetism.
