Egypt is one of the oldest civilizations in the world that appeared before writing and chronicling history. It was settled by primitive peoples from ancient times back to the Late Stone Age (110 thousand years BC). Egypt is also famous for archeology and art, most notably the pyramids. Egypt is an Arab country located in the northeast corner of the continent of Africa. It borders Asia. The Sinai Peninsula is located in Asia. Egypt is an intercontinental country. The Arab Republic of Egypt borders the Mediterranean Sea with a coast of 995 km. Furthermore, it is bordered to the east by the Red Sea with a coastline of 1941 km. The area of the Arab Republic of Egypt is about 1.002,000 square kilometers. The history of ancient Egypt is one that has become part of many cultures. For example, the excavation of King Tut's burial site remains as a source of knowledge. People from all over the world travel to Egypt just to get a close-up look at the famous pyramids. The history of the pyramids, including their construction and function, is still being explored as there are many unanswered questions. The civilization was the first to create art, pyramids, and other sculptures. Pyramids are a monumental structure with a square or triangular base and sloping sides that meet in a point at the top, especially one built of stone as a royal tomb in ancient Egypt. Egypt is the central point of pyramids. The pyramid's shape was first used in ancient Mesopotamia in the mud-brick structures known as ziggurats and continued to be used by the Greeks and Romans. Pyramids are also found south of Egypt in the Nubian kingdom of Meroe, in the cities of the Maya throughout Central and South America, and, in a variation on the form, in China. The pyramids of Giza are famous for their size and because they are located near the Nile River, which helped Egyptian civilization to grow. Their famous construction techniques continue to fascinate scholars and archaeologists. The pyramids are important because they are immense significant to the history of ancient Egypt. Ancient Egyptians believed in the afterlife, so they invested much time and money into building these structures which were a part of that process of moving to the afterlife. These ancient structures should be preserved with the utmost care because pyramids give us insight into the ancient world, and understanding pyramids could possibly help us with other newer technologies. The pyramids should be protected from any kind of destruction.
