History is the branch of knowledge dealing with past events. The past is neither the present nor the future. The historian’s task is to understand the past by analyzing the evidence given or written in the present. Thus, history as a way of knowing implies cause and effect through time. Another areas of knowledge related here is the human science. The human scientists study and interpret experiences, activities, constructs, and artifacts associated with human beings, attempt to expand and enlighten the human being’s knowledge of their existence, its interrelationship with other species and systems, and the development of artifacts to perpetuate the human expression and thought. In other words, it attempts to gain complete control of the future. How is human science related to history? The study of human experience is historical and current in nature, thus require the evaluation and interpretation of the historic human experience and the analysis of current human activity to gain an understanding of human phenomena and to project the outlines of human evolution. The historians don’t think of their work as learning the lessons of the past; instead every historian is a human scientist, they determine how any of those lessons apply to the present and how the same histories might be interpreted different perspective. Therefore, by historians understanding the past, human scientist could build on the knowledge and improve and change the future. The historians examine the past. Before stepping into the discussion of the purposes of history, we need to know the difference between history and the past. It is important to note that history is not the past. History is important in the study of human science because human beings have histories and history consists of a fabric of meaningful human actions. Attention to history pervades the research and choice of topics of practitioners of the human sciences. However, history and human science are still different in many ways. One of historians’ jobs is to clarify the past for the study of human science. On the contrary, the human science does not only rely on the historical sources, they care about the present and the future as well. All in all, human makes histories; human science needs the study of history to build on the knowledge and to improve the future. The biases in history can be used to investigate different perspectives of people’s belief on a particular subject in which, it is also a part of the human scientists’ task.
