Hip Hop is not just music or a genre for that sort, or is it the barbaric things that the media makes it out to be. Hip hop is a style not a fad, a swagger, how people dress and decide to carry themselves, express themselves, speaks, and much, much more than that. Many people dis value this music making it up to be something of little to no value with terms like “Black People Music” and claiming its just music for degenerates. The Hip Hop community would say those people just do not really understand the genre, or just listen to only the negative things from the media or the radio! Hip Hop is more than what the media makes it out to be, it is just a misunderstood art form. Hip Hop is more than just hoodlum music; it is music for the people. The music performed and recorded by conscious minded artists can move you & touch you in many different ways, show how the music is not only suited for hoodlums, and is not the source of evil or malicious intent. Just like anything in the world you can always choose to value the positive and negative. The media only decides to weigh in on only the negative v... ... middle of paper ... ...this? It is simple for many years hip hop has been misconceived in the public eye not really taken from what it is and its true potential. Everyone can love mangoes but there will always be that one person that does not like mangoes and likes peaches, I just hope that person will listen to the music with an open mind and not just hear what the media or society tells you. Listen to all the snare drums and all the different types of instruments playing in the back and take in the music for what it truly is and not the slandered baseless opinion people will give you. It is truly impossible to listen or do one thing once and completely soak it in and the same goes for Hip Hop, true art can not be understood and digested in one go. Years later we can still go look at work of Michelangelo and still see something new, deferment, and inspiring. That is what Hip Hop embodies!
