In Asia, Hinduism and Buddhism are two very large religions with very many common ideas of how to live their life. In India for example, most of the people living there are Hindus. They do not believe in just one God, there are multiple Gods. Brahma is the creation God who created earth from a universe that already existed. Hindus believe life is a cycle. Time is a cycle. When the world goes under a new world will be created by Brahma. After you die you will reborn again in a higher or lower level, depending on how you have lived your life before. If a Hindu has done good things in life, he or she will reach Samsara which is the goal. If they reach Samsara they will break the cycle, and not be born again (O’Brien and Palmer). Important to know is that even though a teacher is not allowed to express her own personal views on the topic, a student can use a religious-based answer on a secular assignment in school. The bible can be studied in school as literature, but not for non-secular use (“Religion in the Curriculum). A teacher cannot teach and argue with his or her own religious beliefs in the classroom no matter the opinions of a student. Whether people are aware of it or not, people influence each other every day. To try to make people agree and convince people to think like him or herself is completely normal. People like to relate and talk about common things between them. Trying to agree with people does not have to be connected to religion. Do not most of the people feel better when agreeing with each other instead of having an argument? (“Teacher’s Beliefs affecting students”). This, trying to convince people to think more like oneself is a huge drawback when teaching religion in a classroom.
