I can say that high school is very different than college and that this was expected because obviously they are two different levels of education. I can say the concept of high school is the same as college. For example, go to school, study and pass. Sounds easy, but trust me, it is not. Another factor worth mentioning is that students in high school are pampered compared to students in college. I am saying this because I am feeling the difference myself as I finish my first term. This is where my high school experience kicks in. As my first semester comes to an end, I noticed the way I use to get things done in high school are not the same as when I got stuff done in college. There are three reasons that can contribute to why my high school experience did not prepare me for college. The three major ways that my high school experience did not prepare me for college were by not preparing myself to be fully responsible, manage my time, and determining who I wanted to be. The truth is that college is on another level and it is different than high school in various ways. Things will always be more difficult, but that only applies if the person will not follow through with what he or she has to do. For me, I had to learn how to be an adult and be responsible for all the actions and decisions I make. I had to learn how to manage my time and put school as a priority. Deciding what I wanted to after high school was not part of that experience because I did not feel as if the classes I was taking did not motivate me to go to college. At the end of the day, all of those reasons caused me react in a alarming way and it was a wake up call to reality as I entered college.
